1.2 MILLION square foot warehouse.

The warehouse was filled with paper products from familiar brands like Kleenex to Huggies diapers, which further fueled the six-alarm fire.

The Ontario Police Department later identified the suspect as 29-year-old Chamel Abdulkarim from Highland. Authorities initially believed he was a Kimberly-Clark employee, but later clarified that he's actually an employee of NFI Industries, a third-party distributor for Kimberly-Clark.

Officials said it is not known at this time if Abdulkarim was actively on duty working when the fire began, but he was present at the warehouse.

A motive for the alleged arson has not been determined, though investigators noted that tips from the community, possibly relating to social media posts, helped lead them to Abdulkarim.

This one states he filmed himself setting it on fire.

ONTARIO, Calif. — A man suspected of setting the massive Ontario warehouse fire on Tuesday filmed himself repeatedly saying, “All you had to do was pay us enough to live,” as he set paper products ablaze in the Kimberly-Clark distribution center, police said.

So setting the place on fire to prove that he needed to make a living wage works how?

Abdulkarim appears to have been dissatisfied with a previous employer as well. A person by the same name joined others in a class-action lawsuit against PrimeFlight Aviation Services in 2024. The lawsuit alleges that the company failed to provide meal periods, rest periods, accurate wage statements and pay due at separation.

A phone number listed for PrimeFlight’s Corona office is disconnected. The lawsuit, filed in San Bernardino County, appears to have been dismissed.

In another lawsuit filed in San Bernardino County, Midland Credit Management alleged that Abdulkarim failed to pay a credit card debt of $2,976. The defendant in that case, like the suspect in the fire, lives in Highland, court records show.

This guy sounds like a winner.

He's going to play the race/oppression card.  In California, I'm going to say he's got a 60/40 shot of winning.  That can change if Kimberly Clark is a big political donor to the leftist establishment.
