***Official Politics Forum Petition***

No . Two people posting here torpedoed the political forum there causing the moderation of the entire board to be much more stringent after the political forum was nuked. Everyone knows who the culprits are

There would be enough traffic there.  And I think it would open up traffic here.   To be honest.  I have no idea sbout FBGs.  I used their depth charts some.  Ive went onto the board to look but was never a member.  I have no idea what went on there other than what I hear at this place.   This is my home.  

I will banter when frisky or a topic I give a about.  But its gotten to be too much.  Same threads.  Same back and forth.  Its a broken record.

Yes. One of the guys now here kept reporting people. He became such a nuisance to the owner and mods that he got bird avatars banned for a short time. If he didn’t like a nickname for a player, say Kappy , he reported those posts. 

the other guy was omnipresent in every thread. The owner suggested he post less instead of his plague of locusts posting style. 
we had a private facebook group that had a few mods in it and they would tell us what was happening

After thehuddle imploded, I'd gone to FBG first before coming here. It was a brand new fantasy football site at the time, going into their first NFL season. They had no use for huddle humor over there, or much of anything else. Posters I knew who migrated over there were all getting banned left and right. I was, myself, walking on eggshells with each post. It was an incredibly unwelcoming and uncomfortable environment. 

When they banned a poster I respected greatly, who'd posted something uncontroversial, then I got banned for requesting some more discretion in the banning process. The place died to me. I'm a grown-ass adult, I make serious posts, especially on my best behavior. I'm not going to be treated like a child by a constantly butthurt admin who lacks any semblance of discretion. So I focking left. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did.

Ive heard it was pretty tame with a left leaning admin.   I bet there was some good threads as they had traffic.   But probably no tolerance for anything even a little off the wall or racy.  I cant live in that world.  Here its a bit much but at least people have a say.   Idc what you say quite honestly.  I have never hit a report bitton in my life.   I have never blocked someone in my life.  Maybe I dont care that much.  Say what you have to say.  Expect to be picked on.  Who give a crap.  

But politics has heavily outweighed regular talk here.  Id go over to thr politcal board once in a while and get into it.   But I would rather see some decent/informative/goofy/ball busting threads as well.  Politically we do thr same thing over and over.  I try when talking about politics to give a from thr heart real response most times but the threads get old.   You could put them on repeat most of the time.  

Repeated stances and posts is traffic tho.

I think removing all the political threads from the GC would result in former geeks returning to post. If the political forum fails or not is of no concern to me, I’d just like to see it separated

If a separate forum is a no go how about just 1 general political thread. No other political threads

What will the penalty be for talking politics in the GC?   (I would abide by it, but I know many, particularly those on the right, would not)

I expect posters like maxipad and peefoam would be in the political forum 90% of the time but they do also strike up sports convos and such.

Also, I’m not sure why political conversation would get more boring for me, I try to keep politics out of non-political threads.  It’s the guys (usually righties IMO) that often try to make non-political threads political that it would get boring for

Maybe not. Some of those names are not people I even associate with politics. Maybe blow hards in general (HT, June July who I assume is horsenuts?). FBN has become a maximum overkill junior.

I mostly only @ people in threads that are already about politics.  I mean if you’re saying you think making a political board would just lead to less overall discussion about politics including productive discussion, then sure it would probably get more boring.
