When trading back you have to risk losing your player and if the return is minimal you might as well use your pick and get your guy. if that is the case I applaud the decision to stick to your guns. if, however it comes out that no attempt was made to trade back this move becomes a whole lot harder to defend. luckily this info rarely becomes public. so I doubt any of us will ever know.
