What the actual eff??  Brian Burns, Abdul Carter, Kayvon Thibodeux, and now Reece?  They have four highly touted guys, for TWO positions..  HATE the pick.

They can start him off at ILB where he played more than edge. The draft is about upside more than position. Thibideux is in his last year. This pick was a coup…

People are making a big deal out of this but 3 things are at play here. First. They are looking to the future. Stafford is getting old and he has always been on the verge of being out.  Second, The rams run a heavy play action offense and Simpson ranked number 1 last year in play action passer rating and he has the same speed as Josh Allen. The third is,  The rams almost never have a first so they likely do not care if people see this as a reach. They have shown they can find value outside of the first.

Tate at 1.04 is a no for me dog. Denzel Boston is still on the board, a better player/profile IMO.

I get it.  and your opinion may be the same as many.

but some teams see a player very much differently.   especially if their system is substantially different from the system the player played in college.    There is always an element of risk there.     And each team sees the risk differently.

at the end of the day he was obviously at the top of their list, and thats all that matters to them

They dont care about the opinion of peons such as you and I.

such is the nature of drafting.

even in fantasy.... have you ever seen a player in the draft that you are certain will breakout and they do.  but you seem to be the only person who sees it happening?

so you take them late maybe a round or two above their ADP and it turns out wildly for you?

that happens at the pro level too.   There is no doubt about that.

As a GM you need to make what you think is the best pick for you and your team based on what you know.   thats why they get paid the big bucks.

I fully agree, some GMS make decisions that everyone sees as a mistake.  and that happens too.   but at the end of the day if you are a GM you sometimes need to assume you are right and everyone else is wrong.   and that is likely what has happened here.

Who does this diminish more... Cooper, Sadiq, or Taylor?  Last year, Taylor was their 2nd round pick and their leading target share player.  As a TE, he's still more of a slot receiver.  Then they get Sadiq, fine, if they anticipate him being an in-line TE.  If not, they've just diminish Taylor.  But then, they draft Cooper who profiles as a slot receiver.  Their allocation of assets seems very confusing.  I'm guessing they're thinking is that Taylor is a going to be just a backup who gets little playing time.  That's fine, but they're admitting to picking a 2nd round bust after just 13 weeks.  :dunno:

Ohhh, first shocker. WR Carnell Tate to the Titans at 1.04! 😯

Why's that?  I don't follow college football, but I've seen a good handful of Ohio State games, since my son is a big fan.  The dude seems uncoverable.  He's always open no matter who they played.  Is it your opinion that Tate isn't a top tier WR that won't translate to NFL/fantasy success?

I think it was more in reference to the fact that Tate was rarely if ever mocked to the Titans at 4. It was always Reece, Bailey, Love or Styles in that spot. So when Tate was picked at 4 it was a surprise, albeit not a big one...

I gotcha.  Makes sense.  I'm fully entrenched in baseball season, so I haven't followed football that much since the super bowl.

I think they had 2 targets. One was love. No one really thought that the Cards were going to take love. So when he was taken they moved to the next best chance to help their QB.

Their (Cardinals), QB's currently on the roster are Brisset, Minshew, and Slovis.  I'm thinking that the first thing this team needs is a QB, the second would be a RB... because you don't want any of those 3 throwing the ball, if you don't have too.  If you can run 50 times a game, then do it.  Love + Allgeier + Connor + Benson can equal 50 touches a game.  Love makes perfect sense to me, with their pick.

Rams QB Ty Simpson said he had “secret meetings” with head coach Sean McVay ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.
This should put to bed any rumors that McVay was caught off guard by the Rams taking Simpson with the 13th overall pick in the 2026 draft. “They wanted to make it private and didn’t want people to know that they were interested,” Simpson told ESPN Radio on Monday. Simpson said he was told by members of the Rams organization not to tell anyone the team was interested in taking him as an heir apparent to Matthew Stafford, who will start for LA in 2026 and possibly 2027. That McVay hosted hours-long top-secret meeting with Simpson likely means he’s fully bought into the rookie as the future of the Rams. Simpson, 23, could spend his first two NFL seasons on the bench, however.

Clearly the eagles knew they were looking at him because they moved right in front of them and ate their lunch.

good job Eagles.    You got your guy.

Nope, neither is Trey Benson or James Conner.

well, the end was close for Conner anyhow.   I figured the injury put him in danger of being cut.

but Benson I think had a real shot at being their starter this year.   Clearly the team didnt think he had what it takes or just feels this kid(Love)is just THAT much better.

either way, I think someone there will be finding a new job sometime soon

I think it's going to be very difficult for Benson to emerge as their rb1, didn't seem ready last season when he return.

Yup, this one stings. I have Benson in 2 dynasty leagues and he's all but dead unless traded. Fingers crossed.

I drafted him too high to cut him and wouldn't get anything in a trade. I'm screwed

well, I had a feeling they might go a different direction.    hed been there a couple of years and couldnt wrestle the starting job from Conner.   but he did seem like a guy who had the talent to start somewhere.  for whatever reason he was just never able to put it together.

he may get traded.   you never know.    There are enough RB needy teams out there. If I was in charge of a team that had this need I'd be on the phone to Zona to find out if hes on the block and find out the asking price.   Not saying I'd buy.    That would depend on the price of course..... but I'd definitely inquire.

The rest are people you never heard of because you don't follow football.

3.05 - Demond Claiborne

3.06 - Sarratt

3.09 - Jalen Coker (released by someone prior to the draft as a roster casualty)

7.01 -

7.05 -

It's a TE Premium league, I can explain what that means if you don't know yet. But for this reason Tight Ends are almost impossible to come by in season. If a starter is available you grab them.
