early in the thread people were saying WR 15-25.

where do you guys see him now?

Not that high.

I started the thread, and ended up keeping Godwin over Pierce as one of my 4 keepers.  Maybe it’ll bite me but figured Godwin had a higher floor and is a low WR2/high WR3 in a 16 team league.

Pierce could end up fine for week 1, but I’ll let it be someone else’s worry.

thanks - I'm considering him in a dynasty, so week one is not as big a deal to me.  basically he is one of the top non-rookies that is unprotected at wr

I pick at #13 in the 1st (technically 5th round since we keep 4), and again at #29 in the 2nd.  I wouldn’t take him with my 1st but would draft him back with my 2nd if he’s there.  I doubt he will be though.  He’s the 4th best non-rookie WR available in our league.

With the way this has gone, I’m starting to think the Colts had no intention of Pierce practicing until after TC. He’ll still have a couple weeks of practice at the position & running routes he’s already familiar with. It’s also rumored that the Allen signing was months in the making anyway. I wouldn’t expect Pierce to make much impact in weeks 1 & 2, but it feels like this is how they were planning the recovery

well, he has missed all of training camp up to this point.

there can sometimes be issues re establishing a connection with the Starting QB when this much time off is missed to start the pre season.   so I do think he will start the year off slow.  partly due to injury and partly due to this.

the presence of Keenan allen also takes some of the shine off of him.    we have arguably too many mouths to feed now, so its not a given that he has the expected statistical breakout many were predicting this year.    if he misses a couple games to start the season I'm looking at a year where he likely gets 850-900 total yards with around 6 TD.  Sadly hes not a TD monster so his value lies in volume to some extent.

He's a low wr2 if he can do something he's never been able to do, stay healthy.

Allen is a target hog because he consistently gets open.  He's poised to have a pretty good year, especially in PPR leagues as both Pierce and Downs don't seem able to stay healthy.

I dont know where you guys are getting the healthy thing as being an issue.

I get it, pierce is currently injured, but missing time hasnt historically been an issue for him or for downs.

Pierce missed 2 games last year and one in 2024.

Downs missed 1 game last year and 3 the year before.   the year before that he played the full season.

I get concerned when players miss 4+ games consistently.   when they miss one or two games.... thats manageable.

but Keenan Allen is an exceptional route runner.  so if these guys arent getting open,  Keenan Allen will be open and will take targets away from them.    so yeah, hes gonna take some of the shine off of the other two WR.    this could even be a WR by committee situation.

but first, Pierce has to get healthy.   he has missed all of pre season.  hes working out independently now but not practicing with the team.   there is not a whole lot of time for him to get in game shape or develop chemistry with his starting QB.   Thats the biggest issue here.     The team paid him.  so you know they will feature him once hes healthy.  but we may be a ways away from that being the situation.

my league keeps 12.  it's weird that he is in the FA pool at all - my guess is that someone thought his ankle injury ruined his career and dropped him late last year.

this site (fftoday) has him ranked higher than all the rookies in redraft but behind Tate, Tyson, Concepcion, and Lemon on the dynasty chart (updated 8/22)

i pick 4th.  i probably tend to put pierce ahead of tyson just because tyson really smells like career injury issues.  Love will likely go #1.  Tate probably is one of the 2nd or 3rd.  i have have to go WR given my roster.  so i'm likely choosing between Pierce, Concepcion, lemon, stribling for my first pick.  i need some help this season as well (so,, that is more reason to lower tyson down my board, and, frankly lemon as well - don't think he is in a great spot for a big rookie season).  so, probably down to Concepcion (#1 playing from behind a lot), stribling (in good spot made great spot due to other injuries) or pierce

Alec Pierce is officially healed. Colts plan to ramp up his practices for the next two weeks in preparation for week 1.

I drafted him in the 7th round of a 12 team ppr league.

if what you say is true, this represents good value.

I'd probably avoid starting him in week one unless you hear that he is full go.  even then, I'd hold off a week.   he hasnt exactly had a ton of time to get in tune with the offense and such.  it may be worth your while to see where hes at before starting him.

but that also depends on situation.  if you are not deep at WR, you may need to roll the dice.   but if you are deep at WR, maybe you can hold off and see what happens in week 1 before throwing him in.

I'm not starting him week 1.
