Doesn’t seem like a prudent decision by Humana . Any way to appeal the decision to a higher up?

Sadly a typical decision for a health care provider in this country, where profit is the bottom line.

Denying requests like this is how they make money or rather more money.

As Jesse Welles sang in United Heath, "There hardly humans in humanity" (obviously referring to Humana)

I guess they realize you can't fix people who don't want to be fixed. Why keep paying for it?

I'll pray for you, Bunny.  You've got a lot to live for, including your daughter.  Don't do this to her.  🙏

@BunnysBastatrds

i don’t know your plan and what it covers but an alcohol addiction rehab place shouldn’t be your only option here.

please consider a psychologist, therapist, mental health counselor or similar.

call your insurance provider and ask for their specific criteria for mental health coverage. See you general practitioner and have them write you a recommendation for such.

if needed, appeal any denial of coverage and specifically point to the addiction equity act.

Yeah, if you’re ever struggling, just come on here man and we’ll all get together and go make fun of Tim 🤣

I know this sounds like the opposite of what you should do, but make sure you keep drinking. If you quit cold turkey, it might kill you. Find a rehab program that can help your body manage the change

Unfortunately, there comes a time when you have to stop trying to help people who refuse to help themselves.  It becomes a pattern that they push to the limit and expect every time a landing spot so they can start it all over again after they have a chance to reset when they hit their lowest points.

If you think this guy bunny has gotten to this point in life without ever having thought about what you posted above, many times over the years, either you are simply calling him an idiot, or he is an idiot.

So which is it?

You're the idiot. We'd all happily bend over backwards to help @BunnysBastatrds because he's a good dude.

We'd line up and fight each other over the right to pull the plug on your sorry ass. That's what happens when you're an insufferable prlck 24/7.

Go ahead and get in line with your other dopey libtard friends. You are so stupid.

If people are paying for you to get help and you don't do your part time after time, then that help dries up eventually.

You are so dumb.

Bunny.

Hang in there, please.

Find a way to healthily detox; alcohol detox is one that can kill you if you just quit cold turkey.

Go to a meeting. I know that not everyone believes in AA, but find a meeting, find SEVERAL meetings. Make connections with people who will check in on you. Take what you can and leave the rest.

Preach!

My father has been a member of AA for decades. It's been a fantastic outlet for him not just to get through tough times but also socially. Nobody understands addiction better than the folks going through it.

@BunnysBastatrds, PM me if you want to talk. One of my close friends had to have liver and kidney transplants due to alcoholism before he turned 50. He and my dad went to a meeting together the last time he visited. While I'm far from a teetotaler, I understand addiction pretty well and am happy to help anyone in need.

If you're sober for 11 years you are not an alcoholic. Don't put that label on yourself just because people have drilled it into you that you still should label yourself.
