Democrats think everyone is a Nazi except for the guy with the Nazi tattoo.

Adolph Hitler could come back from the dead and say he is pledging himself to the liberal cause, and they would accept him with wide open arms.

"See! Even Adolph is anti Trump!"

Sad but true.  They have thrown in with the likes of Hamas.

Just did an hour plus interview with NYT. I knew nothing about him except this tattoo controversy and he was a Marine and oyster farmer.

Would be surprised if he doesn’t mollywop Susan Collins. People will eat up his schtick compared to a 70 year old DC veteran who has been in the Senate since many of were in College.

All the stuff in the OP (if true) is fair game. I don’t think this stuff is actually anything MAGAs value or prioritize in their own decisions but Maine voters should consider moral character in their decision making.

The Daily podcast has the interview with this dude or you can read it at NYT.

The interview covers this tattoo, the “shitposting” he did on Reddit along with a bunch of other stuff. I don’t agree with him on some things but he’s a good speaker and for all the little fellas who overcompensate he doesn’t talk like a typical elitist liberal. He’s pretty much Bernie Sanders if he worked out at the shipyards after getting shot at in a war zone.

So if you were in Maine you would be goose stepping to the polls to vote for the Nazi?

Jealous? It's okay. Goose stepping is still protected by 1A. For now.

He’s not a Nazi. I’d vote for him over Susan Collins for sure.

As for what I think Maine voters would go for I don’t see him losing.

He's just a guy who has worn a Nazi tattoo for decades.  And I know you've defended him, and that's ok.  But these things are why I don't worry too much about when the left starts the heavy breathing into the brown paper bag over the good ol' boy with the stars and bars on his truck.  I really don't care about his tattoo either, he's not going to do more damage than some of the others with the same views who will get elected elsewhere.  But all this talk of Trump being a Nazi etc are just parroting the media voices, the left in particular really doesn't care about true antisemitism.  It appears the active base today is all for it.  In fact, I'd say it has helped Platner drive Janet Mills from the race.  It's not a negative for him in the Democratic primary electorate, it's actually a plus.

Trump is a focking abomination on so many levels. He’s not a Nazi, he’s just a scumbag elite level conman.

I don’t know much about this guy but have listened to his explanation of this tat and I believe him. Have you listened to him talk about this?

But we both know Trump has been called a Nazi countless times by people on the other end of the political spectrum.  The term is used to try and generate a visceral reaction to him.  Yet here is a man with a symbol of being just that on his body for decades and it's he's A-OK.  I'm stating this as pure irony in the political discourse, not so much as us individually, but that term has been used to try and disparage Trump for over a decade now.

As far as his explanation, I don't need to hear it because I wouldn't vote for him anyway.  I'm not going to act like I would so any excuse he has wouldn't change my opinion on him politically.  The man could be the most pious among us and if his policies I deemed harmful to our country then I would be against him.  By the same token, I have voted for people whose personal character aren't the best because I liked their policies.  I do think there is a line, and admittedly for me, my line is pretty far but I've had cause to vote against someone for those reasons before.  I'm pretty thick skinned about all that but the modern left I don't think thin skinned would be enough to describe them in my view.  I just find the whole premise that this man who is going to win the primary and is one of the darlings of the left this cycle, has had a Nazi symbol tattooed on him for decades to be hilarious.

I think pretty much every president has been called a Nazi in my lifetime. People throw out that term a lot. I don’t get your point here. Just like with this dude, he’s not a Nazi. He’s a dumbass for getting this tattoo that he thought looked cool when he was 22. Millions of people have dumbass tattoos.

I’m pretty certain this guy is going to roll the old broad up in Maine. If he does that he will def be a darling. A populist, marine, oyster farmer who has no political experience becoming a senator. If this guy put on a red tie, talked about deporting immigrants and cutting taxes Fox nation would shoot their collective wads.

Certainly I've never heard the term Nazi thrown about so freely as I have the last 10 years or so.  Sure all presidents are called various names, but Nazi has been a huge favorite for those attacking Trump in particular and it's kind of fitting that the darling of the left primary candidates has long had a Nazi tattoo.

I don’t have a Nazi counter. Nazi is low hanging fruit in the political bashing world. W was called one, Obama too. The preferred attacks on Obama were more racisty, Trump dabbled in those himself.

In any case this guy isn’t a Nazi. Would be surprised if he didn’t win so I’m sure this will go on for quite awhile. Ironically it may work for him on the fringe of one group of voters. I’ll let you guess who that would be.

I already know who it is, I suspect it helped him clear the field of Gov Mills.

As far as the primary insults I remember, Bush was stupid, Obama was born in Kenya, Trump is a Nazi or Fascist depending on the day of the week. You don't need a counter to remember all that.

I've called Trump a fascist because I believe he truly is one. Not ideologically, but the way he "governs" fits the description. I fail to see any ideology with him at all other than relentless self promotion, aggrandizement, and enrichment.

Calling him a nazi is a bridge too far, though. I don't think he's evil. But he is such a corrupt narcissist that much of what he does comes off as evil-ish. We're not even close to seeing the full fallout from his actions this term.
