It also doesn't address the fact that it was a treatise about Fifield's political affiliations with an obligatory "there was a disturbing arm grab but let's get back to the MAGA accuser" at the end. I’m sorry, repeatedly claiming that an article titled “Several Women Who Dated Graham Platner Recall Unsettling Behavior” was really a “Platner puff piece” is truly crazy to me. The GC never ceases to amaze. Wait, this Fox News link is now claiming Racicot told the NY Times the whole story, but off the record? And they don’t even use quotes to do so. Are they just misinterpreting her statements or has this claim been reported elsewhere? Quote

OK I just re-read the original Politico article, and she does claim “she was contacted by The New York Times in the spring and shared off the record that Platner had assaulted her. “ Ironically in reference to our conversation, it was pretty well buried in the article and in the very beginning they described it differently. I’ll take the L on that part, but 1) I think that kinda backs up the NYT’s side. She’s saying she didn’t want them to publish that, so it would make sense IMO that they wouldn’t make what she did want to publish more prominent in the article. 2) That doesn’t prove that “they,” being really anyone outside of Racicot, maybe a couple people at the NYT, and Racicot’s therapist (who for the record the article notes she talked with about the incident recently, doesn’t say anything about talking with the therapist at the time), knew about these allegations Quote

Racicot was named in the NYT article even though for some reason @Strike incorrectly thinks she wasn’t, but apparently explicitly told the NYT that her most serious allegation was off the record, so for that reason it makes sense that the NYT would not focus on her story. Bottom line is it’s ridiculous to call the NYT article a “puff piece.” But carry on, I know you’re just taking your marching orders or else you would have been this adamant about that description when the article came out and not over a month later. That’s what MAGA thinks, because the tattoo is literally the only piece of evidence to suggest he’s a Nazi. Everything he’s said, including in his Reddit post, shows that he is explicitly ANTI-Nazi. In fact, even Fifield’s account in the NYT piece does not claim she thought he was a Nazi (which of course would mean she was willingly dating a Nazi). She said: he told her that he and other members of his unit selected the tattoo because “they were like a death unit, they were killers,” and saw a parallel between their unit and the Nazi Schutzstaffel, or S.S., unit, that used the skull-and-crossbones image.
