Yes it’s long, but this video is worth a watch.  TL/DW:

-Guy puts $200k worth of Legos on consignment with the store, with a contract and video evidence supporting this

-Store changes ownership and new owners pretend the contract doesn’t exist (but old owner is on video acknowledging it does)

-YouTuber gets involved and even the company’s CEO defends the franchise’s actions (so it can’t just be blamed on a rogue franchisee)

-YouTuber hatches an absolutely insane plan trying to get the Legos back, ultimately resulting in the store permanently closing (but them not getting the Legos back)

Speculation, but this could (and probably will IMO based on the number of views this story is getting) result in huge financial losses for Bricks and Minifigs nationally.

I don’t think this has anything to do with Trump or politics.  But I did forget to point out the video does also include a nice sampling of police corruption and/or incompetence.

Part 2.  Thought this was only on Patreon but found an “unlisted” YouTube link.  This story is bonkers.  Spoiler alert: part 2 includes blatant corruption from the police and possibly…

plot twist…

the Mormon church

Update from original owners who say they were forced out.  Includes audio of corporate office admitting to threatening them.

For those who don’t have kids into Legos, Bricks and Minifigs is basically the largest Lego reseller in the country, with an official relationship with the Lego Brand.  Their sales are around $100 million, and they’re about to ruin the entire brand to steal ~$200k.

Lego and food items that present a choking hazard rounded out the top five, with magnets, marbles and sharp objects, such as small pieces of glass, also commonly swallowed by little mouths.

One hesitates to come to final conclusions based upon edited, curated video, but the apparent corruption in the police department in that town is amazing.  That kid should have been periscoping with the aclu whenever he crossed into their jurisdiction.

Guess no one else has kids that are Lego fans here?  Or people that enjoy stories of police and possibly Mormon church corruption?

Legos are awesome, they're just gimmicky and too expensive anymore.

My Kids never got into Legos.

Here is an interesting analysis (IMO) from a lawyer.   He does acknowledge the YouTuber did some illegal stuff but at the end of the day it accomplished the goal of exposing the store and company who appear to be clearly in the wrong on the initial situation

This PD previously made some news for an ordinance against panhandling which was ruled unconstitutional

Q: How is corporate holding itself accountable to ensure this never happens again?

A: We are taking hard lessons from this situation and using them to strengthen our franchise operations. We are implementing three strict pillars of systemic accountability:

More Rigorous Record Keeping and Inventory Management: We are updating our inventory logging requirements. This means mandating real-time, digital tracking from the moment a collection enters a store, creating an indisputable, permanent, identifiable paper trail that protects both the collector and the business. This process began in January 2025 and continues to be tightened and refined.

So they learned their lesson and holding themselves accountable, starting with better inventory management which STARTED in January 2025.  One can safely assume then that this happened in Biden's America, not Trump's.

They didn’t learn their lesson in 2026 though.  This year they:

-lied about saying consignment isn’t allowed.  A copy of the contract signed by all stores was leaked showing it is allowed

-are on video threatening to use lawsuits to stall (and have now filed one)

-made false allegations of heroin possession and had the police department in their pocket, resulting in unlawful stops/arrests and even injuring the YouTuber despite him not resisting

-literally today the COO and CEO did interviews that just make them look worse

-STILL WON’T GIVE THE GUY BACK HIS LEGOS

I watched part two.

That utah police department should be held accountable for their actions essentially allowing themselves to be weaponized by this company and then redacting the body cam footage to cover up their conspiracy.

It was more of a comment about how it's much safer and more lucrative being a white collar criminal in the current environment than an examination of dates.

And, yaknow, maybe a teeeeeny but of trolling, which normally I would never participate in.

I’m kinda surprised he hasn’t made part 2 fully public yet.  Part 1 is at 2 million views and part 2 is 10x crazier.   I’ve seen a bunch of people say this was the first time they’ve ever paid for a patreon.  I guess he’s still finishing part 3 and will put that on Patreon first and will make part 2 fully public then

Too bad those cops won't be investigated after plotting to fabricate charges.

Did I see that clip right where the cops were basically admitting they were targeting them?  They were like "if we can't get you on defamation, we'll get you on stalking.  If we can't get you on stalking we'll get you on harassment..."

And I'll be damned if that isn't exactly what happened.  They trumped up some BS charge for the GoFundMe.  And then denied the dude bail.

PD puts out a statement by a guy creepily whispering that just digs their hole deeper.

The biggest new development IMO is that the PD admitted that the alleged Lego thief threatened to shoot someone!  So instead they arrest the guy trying to hold him accountable, lol.

They also claim the traffic stop was legitimate even though their own bodycam shows them coming to a complete stop.

They say the YouTube video had an  x ray image of Ben’s left shoulder, but it was the right shoulder that the officer roughed up.  Except the YouTube video noted it as a stock image lol.

They added a stalking charge for being on a FaceTime call lol.   And claimed the guy trying to lock his phone (again, on video) was “attempting to destroy evidence.”

They apparently found the Airbnb where they were staying because the homeowner (probably another Mormon) called the police to tell them that YouTubers were staying there, and claimed they overheard camera footage of them talking about stolen Legos, and that’s why the warrant they used to arrest them mentioned stolen Legos…

The worst I’ve seen that could be credibly accused of Ben is that the mormon kid they claimed “went to the same church as Josh” may not have actually went to the same church.

This guy pulled some bodycam footage I hadn’t seen elsewhere.  He concludes (not surprisingly) that their 4th amendment rights were definitely violated. The cops actually note that apparently Utah doesn’t have a clear code for harassment, which is probably how they came up with “stalking.”  A different video I saw noted that defamation isn’t even something you can be arrested for even though they tried that too.

Well the actual videos the original guy has released on this story have gotten over 12 million views and counting so far, it’s a pretty popular story.  For good reason, it’s a great example of corporate greed and screwing over the little guy combined with police corruption being exposed by good old fashioned hard work and on the ground reporting.

I’d suggest maybe instead of writing “liberals are dumb” 10,000 times you watch the videos (particularly the main parts 1 and 2).  They’re quite entertaining.

No thanks. I don't need more unhinged liberal lunatic hate filled lying takes to try to rile me up and start hating the world like all you liberals do.

I was in corporate America for over 20 years and all it did to me (one of the "little guys") was make me wealthy and gave me tons of perks in life.

And tell me all about this police corruption that happened to you personally. I've never experienced any of this corruption or any of the "getting screwed over by corporate greed" you seem to have experienced so much of.

Every time I look on this site I see you whining and crying about yet another thing in your life that's all bad. All you liberals on this site are in constant cry mode.

The only unhappy people I see in my life are those who cause their own unhappiness. Miserable hate filled people. And I choose to not hang around them.

These videos aren’t about politics.  I know you think so but not everything is about politics.

Obviously this example doesn’t mean all corporations are bad or all police are corrupt, but it is quite funny how this particular corporation will likely lose millions in sales because they wanted to steal ~$100k from a dying old man.  They also had numerous chances to remedy it before it got to this point and are just making themselves look worse and worse which adds to the entertainment value.

I don’t think many people have experienced police corruption quite like what these videos show.  That’s why they’re so insane.

This video isn’t whining btw.  It’s simply highlighting an example of terrible people getting exposed.

I never mentioned politics once. I'm talking about perspective on life. Politics filters in but isn't the only thing.

If bad practice happens in a corporation they can be tagged with lawsuits, go out of business, whatever.

And normally when you are looking for jobs, you filter out the companies that have bad reputations or at least know what you are getting into. I have met many many people who use companies to get what they themselves want. Happens all the time. On a daily basis.

It's just how the job market works. And if you are customer, do your homework. That's just a normal thing.

And there are bad people in every profession. This is why I laugh at people who single out the church for sex crimes. Every field has plenty of them.

I can't imagine being a cop, especially a big city cop and having to deal with scum out there day in and day out.

lol HFS Bricks and Minifigs corporate also threatening a high school kid because he commented to Reckless Ben  about a possible collaboration.  This kid had previously documented his experience taking valuable minifigures to numerous Bricks and Minifigs locations and received offers that he claims were between 6-19% of the value.  One store “accidentally misplaced” one that was worth over $1000 and didn’t give it back to him until he confronted them.  Bricks and Minifigs got the video taken down (and that happened before the recent controversy)
