Today, the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) announced that it is again recognizing June as ‘Title IX Month’ in honor of the fifty-fourth anniversary of the Educational Amendments of 1972 (Title IX), signed into law on June 23, 1972. The Department commemorates women’s struggle for, and achievement of, equal educational opportunity and, throughout the month, will highlight the Trump Administration’s historic progress in restoring Title IX’s sex-based protections.

Yeah.  God forbid women have rights.

Unfortunately in college athletics in many cases it resulted primarily in men’s opportunities being cut rather than women’s ones being added

In my experience, If men's were cut it was usually in order to ADD women's so I'd say it's a wash.  Regardless, the reason for that was that men had like 90% of the athletic opportunities.  Title IX evened the playing field.  Again, why don't you want women to have equal rights?

Well, at least we know how the Tims feel about women now.

I feel bad for their wives and daughters.

Title IX did so much for women and girls.

No thanks. I have a wife.

We're talking women's rights.  You know, like making a sammich.  And getting married usually means a woman has given her last blowjob.

Mostly because football teams are like 60% of the male athletes at a school.    To make up for the disparity resulting from football which does not have a female equivalent, other men’s teams were often cut.  Wrestling and men’s gymnastics were common victims.  There are currently only 12 men’s D1 gymnastics teams for example.
