Maximum Overkill Posted June 4 Posted June 4 The Green Bay Packers have their receiver corps locked down for years to come. The Packers and wideout Christian Watson agreed to a four-year, $110.5 million extension, which includes a $31 million signing bonus, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Thursday. Watson had been set to enter the final year of his contract after inking a one-year extension last September as he was coming off an ACL tear in the Week 18 of the 2024 season. This time around, the Packers made a bigger commitment Quote

Showboat Posted June 4 Posted June 4 That's a lot to pay for a player that can't seem able to stay on the field. Quote

Showboat Posted June 4 Posted June 4 I was actually surprised to see it reported that he’s played 14, nine, 15, and 10 games, respectively, in his first four seasons. I would have thought it would have been less. 1 Quote
Maximum Overkill Posted June 4 Author Posted June 4 Good Lord, look at all those injuries And I feel like even in the games he's played, he was always leaving early with a tweaked hammy or something stupid. Quote
listen2me 23 Posted June 5 Posted June 5 He came back from thr ACL strong. I think they were impressed with the work he put in. He changed a few things to his routine in hopes to stay healthier. Health is a concern but people exaggerate money. They all look like big deals these days. I like Alec Pierce. But he got more money and TWICE the guaranteed money. Packers left themselves with a bit of an out in case injury keeps happening. When he is on the field their offense is waaaaaaay better. Off ACL playing thr 2nd half of season he was up there in many categories over thay period. Cant lie. Injury is a concern here. If he can stay a bit more healthy, it is sort of a bargain though. As crazy as that sounds. Its a substantial IF though. Quote
Gepetto Posted June 6 Posted June 6 He has elite speed and playmaking. In 2025 on a per-snap basis, he ranked 5th among all wideouts in fantasy points per route. Quote

I guess Green Bay is betting on a healthier Watson. Good luck Green Bay! Quote
weepaws Posted June 6 Posted June 6 Seems like a lot of money for a player that avg 56 targets per season Quote

Super Cubs Posted June 8 Posted June 8 I'm not sold on Watson or any of the GB WR. How do you rank the GB WR for fantasy? Reed, Watson, Golden, Moore Quote

Reed, Watson, Golden, Moore I love Watson for bestball, that's about it. I think that's a pretty pathetic WR room to be honest. I like them in that order but Kraft is probably the their WR/TE1 when healthy. Quote
Ray_T Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Keep in Mind, Golden was a rookie last year. I do expect him to take a big step forward. I'm honestly surprised they threw that kind of money at Watson. I dont think hes a true #1 WR and hes getting what is likely #1 money. I dont even think hes the best WR on the team. Quote
