robb Posted June 7 Posted June 7 A “no brainer” for me, while some may disagree. I do prefer Gibbs over Robinson, so I am pleased. The Lions have a better offense which makes Gibbs a hair better selection than Robinson in my book. At least I won’t have Dan “snipping” picks from me this year! Quote

The scoring system tends to define round one in this mock relatively well. For me at #3, which might be the highest pick I have ever held in this one, Chase is the natural pick. Not saying Cook and McCaffrey were poor picks as there's no doubt you're looking at what will be available in rounds two and three. I just think in a bubble, they're more valuable players. The question,I think, that both Wonder and ICE took into consideration was who is my RB1 going to be if I take WR here? And. that's a pretty solid question. Quote

I'm really high on James Cook, and likely would have done the same thing up there. CMC scares me just a little at his price tag. His efficiency is down, he's got a lot of miles, and last year was a rarity in that he didn't miss time. That said, I've been burned by him, and the pain still lingers . . . Quote

In standard scoring (I hope this is still standard ) 5 is not a great spot to be in, imho. The format absolutely makes me lean toward RB where in a PPR my pick is JSN all day if he's on the board at 5. Puka and his obvious CTE scare me. I just feel like after Gibbs and Bijan, i'd much rather be late round 1 in a standard scoring system. CMC feels more PPR to me at this stage. His rushing production really slipped last year while his receptions rocketed. I'm not going to bank on the rushing returning to 2023 levels at his age, so Cook feels like the more comfortable pick if i'm going to let the lack of PPR influence the pick in the first place. Ultimately i'd much rather be picking down where Dan is and land ARSB and my choice of Achane or Barkley 1 Quote

I had a feeling there would be a little run on RBs and Henry wouldn't make it back to me... I was tempted to pick JSN and hope for Henry to fall. Brown put up pretty good numbers in a down season for a team he didn't want to be on and an inferior passer. The downside is nagging injuries? The upside is a top 5 WR season, I think. Quote
