shovelheadt Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I was worried about holding things up as I had a new hire orientation from 10am-2pm. There's been 5 picks all day. Quote

WhiteWonder Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Breece Hall was who I was hoping would fall to me at 3.5. With the attention paid to the offensive line over the past few years, the draft capital spent on pass catchers and the veteran QB and OC brought in, this is his best shot at finally breaking out. It's likely now or never. Javonte is someone i'm glad I held onto in dynasty, for redraft it's largely a bet on the offense and his role within it. I'm comfortable with the pick and comfortable with my RB duo. Quote

I feel like he can anchor a roster so that you can shoot for a wider radius upside as you go. Quote
Dan Posted June 9 Posted June 9 So . . . a question, now that he's been drafted. First to Matt, I guess. Are you concerned about Drake Maye regressing, knowing he's not going to have the same historically easy schedule again? I'm not casting shade, I'm sincerely curious. I've faded Maye, particularly in redraft, and was curious to see where he'd fall. But I'm curious as to general sentiment in this group. Quote
robb Posted June 9 Posted June 9 I for one, will not be drafting Maye this year. Just a personal preference, even with Brown I town, I simply value other QBs at the high price I would have to pay to get him. 1 Quote

Since I am a value drafter at QB and can't remember the last time I took one earlier, theres no way Maye will be owned by me in any of my redrafts. He feels like the worst value in the draft to be honest. 1 Quote
Vikings4ever Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Happy to get DeVonta, I thought he was going to go a half round earlier. Not so thrilled with Bucky. I like him as a player, but I reached. RBs went quicker than I thought, and what's going to be left at my next turn is likely nothing good. If I was able to redraft, I'd take RB/RB at the first turn then WR/WR here. Quote

If I was able to redraft, I'd take RB/RB at the first turn then WR/WR here. I took Skattebo, who was my next RB, because of the Swift pick. It was one less RB to hope you'd take on the turn. So instead you take the guy that I was going to take at 3.11 in DaVonta Smith. Really good value with him. RBs going quickly demanded the change of plan, and now I'll shift to having a realistic top-3 TE. Nice grab on Smith, though. 1 Quote

I think he will be a top 5 QB still, finally has a WR1 and solid RBs defenses have to respect. Plus Maye is a running QB too. Finally he has Vrabel-Rossini power couple energy. Quote
Fumbleweed Posted June 9 Author Posted June 9 Love the McMillan pick. I think he'll be a top ten WR this year in terms of fantasy points scored. I also thought Maye was taken early, but understand the temptation. Quote
shovelheadt Posted June 9 Posted June 9 Alright...commence with the Bengals insults. A tad early but surely wouldn't be there at 56. Please....for once....stay healthy. Schedule is fairly favorable this year as well. Quote

worm Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Sorry guys, busy day so I didn't have much time to expand. I looked back at the last few drafts and this was right in the range Allen had been going (if not a few picks earlier), and I feel like nothing has changed since last year when I took him at the 2/3 turn so this felt like good value. In the 4th I really thought I was going one way but then talked myself out of it. I didn't want to get too far behind at RB and Montgomery has proven he can get in the end zone. I had forgot Joe Mixon had 11 rushing TD's in this offense just 2 years ago, so DM might be just what Houston needs to get back in the mix. Quote
Hawkeye21 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Not exactly what I was hoping for here. Ended up going with need instead best player available. I wanted to take Colston if he was there but he didn't fall. I really needed to get another starting RB and Judkins is their workhorse. Quote
Dan Posted June 10 Posted June 10 10 hours ago, WhiteWonder said: last 2 picks were my next 2... gotta do some contemplating now Well, your contemplation probably landed you on a major value. Concerns dropped him, but it looks like he's not going to be suspended. Quote
Fumbleweed Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 I was actually starting to salivate over Rice possibly tumbling to 4.12. That would’ve made my day. Nice pick, Wonder. Quote

Yeah, getting a potential top-10 WR at the 4/5 turn after avoiding the position for the first 3 rounds would have been a MAJOR coup. Quote

I hear this, and it's certainly valid. But everything being said at the moment says he won't miss time. Red flags in his conduct are nothing to ignore, but when he's on the field, he's top 10 ppg, in basically any format. So at some point, he becomes a baseline value. Quote
Fumbleweed Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Sent an email to Mike regarding Ray's absence this morning. I am for giving him another hour to check in, but after that, we may need to make a pick for him via Mike. Quote
Fumbleweed Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 With Remote not drafting with us anymore, there's no one to complain about Ray... 1 Quote
robb Posted June 10 Posted June 10 This does appear to be taking too long for the first pick of the third day. Quote

Fumbleweed Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 And, there's why I didn't want Mike to make the pick...was hoping either Rice or Nabers would fall to 4.12 and I knew Nabers would be Mike's pick based on rankings. Quote

Yeah, Nabers is that wild card in June. Latest reports make his situation murky, suggesting he could miss "significant time" to start the season. Quote

The recent rash of WR signings, for example, and the more significant initial injury that Nabers had the cleanup procedure for. I get the suspicion we will be told the goal is to play week 1, then when they decide it won't be week 1, the PUP comes into play. Quote
