Alias Detective Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Who still sees people wearing them? Prior to the mask mandate if you saw someone concealing their identity you immediately became suspicious. Is it time to put a stop to wearing masks in areas where identity should be able to be confirmed? How about people roaming around towns in packs wearing Covid masks? Is it time to put a stop to wearing Covid masks all together? Quote
Strike Posted June 10 Posted June 10 Of course not. Some people have legitimate health reasons to wear a mask and trying to distinguish between hypochondriacs and those with legitimate concerns would be futile. Would you be in favor of doing the same to protestors? That's more or a problem than Covid masks. Quote

Alias Detective Posted June 10 Author Posted June 10 Here The Trend and Incidents Concealing Identity: Criminals, including groups of juveniles, frequently wear ski masks and face coverings to obscure their identities and evade identification on surveillance or by victims. [1, 2, 3] Violent Crimes & Mobs: Law enforcement agencies have reported incidents of "mobs" of masked teens carrying out assaults and armed robberies. For instance, in Arlington, Virginia, a man was assaulted in a mob-style attack by a group of masked teenagers. [1, 2] Property Crimes: Masked youth and young adults have also been recorded committing coordinated thefts and property damage, such as breaking into unlocked vehicles or targeting retail stores. Legislative Responses To combat this trend, several cities and counties have enacted "ski mask bans," penalizing individuals who conceal their faces in public spaces: [1] Philadelphia: The Philadelphia City Council passed legislation banning ski masks in public spaces, parks, and on public transit to curb violent crime, with fines implemented for wearing them while committing an offense. [1, 2] New York: Areas such as Nassau County enacted a Mask Transparency Act, heavily penalizing individuals who wear face coverings to hide their identities in public. New York State has also moved to create specific charges for individuals who commit crimes while masked. Your question is asinine for the reason I posted in my first response to it. And you haven't addressed that response. And to be clear, Covid masks and the masks criminals wear are significantly different from each other. Criminals don't decide to use Covid masks when they want to hide their identity. Quote

Like Tim, I wouldn't trust anything you post without a link as far as I could throw it and given that this is an electronic message board that's pretty much not at all. And given that you're on my ignore list and I have to unhide each of your posts to read what new asinine crap you're posting, I'm just gonna bow out of this discussion. I've even noticed socially awkward folks or people with facial scarring or bad acne gravitating toward them. Doesn't mean we should do away with them, though. They are effective at staunching the spread of infections. Quote
