Drizzay Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Same sh!t every 4 years. The only time we "care" about soccer. Quote
thegeneral Posted June 11 Posted June 11 Tonight is first match. I don’t care about soccer at all but World Cup is always good. Pretty much like the Olympics and say curling or track and field. Seattle is a host city so will go down on Monday to hang out and watch the game at bar down near stadium and walk around. Quote
Fireballer Posted June 11 Posted June 11 German dudes on X are pretty funny as they experience the best the South has to offer to include Auburns War Eagle flying, Buc-ee’s, and Ella Langley. Quote

WhiteWonder Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I’ll be at - Sunday night. No I really don’t care that much about soccer but some matches I went to in Europe were entertaining. 1 Quote
kilroy69 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 I would rather gouge my eyes out with a rusty spoon than watch a single focking second of this nonsense. Quote

WhiteWonder Posted June 11 Posted June 11 i dont know why but soccer is one of those things where I kind of cheer against the US team. Really, I should do it in basketball and should probably cheer them on in soccer since we really are not on the map when it comes to mens soccer. it might stem back to when I was kind of getting into it and the Us left landon donovan off the team. cyclone24 Posted June 11 Posted June 11 FanDuel has a pretty good promo for the USA game tomorrow. +100 odds on the US getting a shot on goal. Up to $25 so you basically are getting free 25 bucks. 1 Quote

Plus in my neighborhood we have way too many fair weather fans who also happen to be 49er fans, who also happen to be BIG TIME TDS liberals. So you prolly get my dislike. (I loath the 49ers, even though I consider Steve Young to be the second best QB of all time behind Brady.) Quote
cmh6476 Posted June 12 Author Posted June 12 Argentina vs Algeria for $800 cheapest ticket next Tuesday? Nah, thanks. 1 Quote

GobbleDog Posted June 12 Posted June 12 Best thing about soccer - no commercials, only during half. Worst thing about soccer - nobody knows how much time is left. There's 90 minutes of regular time, then some "extra time", and then ... well the ref just decides when he feels like blowing the whistle. Nobody actually knows. Very unAmerican. 1 Quote

Then again, we are 47 minutes into Korea vs. Czechs and I don't think there has been an official shot on goal. Whee!!! 1 Quote

5-Points Posted June 12 Posted June 12 U.S. kids play soccer until they get old enough to play real sports. This sh!t is overrated. 1 Quote

I don’t watch soccer but have the extra time thing have figured out. They track the time that the dudes were laying on the ground resting because there are no time outs (which is great). They announce the time, say it’s 5 minutes and have the counter, Then at 5 minutes if the team losing still has the ball they allow that run or “play” to finish. When they lose the ball at that point game is over. A bit of guess work there but I can tell when they will blow the whistle in extra time and I watch maybe a few hours of soccer a year. 1 Quote

posty Posted June 12 Posted June 12 I still think the referee should be able to run the stadium clock from a remote control... When play gets stopped because a player tripped over a blade of grass and is writhing around in serious pain, the ref can stop the clock... They do that in college games, why not a the "professional" level... Quote
