That's Paul Krugman's assessment of X/Twitter. He goes on to say that SpaceX is a ponzi scheme & the system is rigged.

(referring to the fact that SPCX is being added to indexes immediately) @dogcows also whined about this recently.

If people like that feel that strongly about it, & also hate Donald Trump and believe he's taking the nation in the wrong direction, the answer seems fairly simple.

Quit investing (adding new money) in any indexes/funds/ETFs that contain SpaceX. After all, if Trump turns out being bad for the market/nation, you'll probably have been better off in cash for the next 2.5 years.

Almost forgot. He even gives us an example of his extreme case of TDS @ 1:35

What a sad/miserable individual.

I'd lost track of Krugman after he left the NYT. Until now, I'd thought he'd fallen off the side of the planet.

If only we were that lucky.

No he’s still one the smartest guys out there. Knows more about the economy than nearly anyone else alive.

Wait...no mention of Blue Cry by Krugman?  It's just X that's the problem?  Yeah, okay, GTFO.

Twitter was a cesspool of liberal hate, censorship and intolerance and when they all left to go to Blue Cry, THAT became the cesspool of liberal hate, censorship and intolerance.  Twitter/X actually became a better place when Musk took over.

These liberal communists need to be deported.

Sure, buddy. That's the reason your plantation masters told you to go with.

But I bet you're a-OK with the inundation of all the Communists on Blue Cry, right?  No issues there?

I've got some bad news for you pal: America has a far-left problem, not a far-right problem.  The number of Nazi's you're told that there are and the number that there actually are is simply not even comparable.  Your demand for Nazis far, far outweighs the actual supply.   You run into one person you think is a Nazi and you then you proceed to tell everyone "OMG!  THERE'S A MILLION NAZI'S IN THE US!".

That's you and your side gaslighting and being emotional about a problem you think is massive but doesn't actually exist.  Take yourself and your estrogen enhanced emotions and GTFO.

It’s Elon’s business, he is welcome to make it a haven for Nazis (including his AI chatbot) if he wants.   I just don’t want to visit it anymore. I don’t visit BlueSky either.

Twitter/X had changed for the better since Elon bought it.  Hopefully they keep making improvements to how they deal with bots and the assh0les that steal other people's media.

Krugman is the guy that keeps being wrong, correct?

After Trump won in 2016, I recall him saying the markets would never recover.

I remember that night well. As it became apparent Trump was going to win, futures were down sharply. By the start of trading the next day, they were up sharply.

I'd compare him to Bill Maher. Has his moments, but more often than not, he's dead wrong.

That is an accurate description of x/twitter.

No, it's not.  You could also claim it's a liberal hell hole.  It all depends on what you are clicking on and replying to.  The algorithm is going change based on what you engage with.

I see that I wasn't clear on what I meant by that and you mis-interpreted it.

I'd just lost track of him, I haven't heard from the guy or seen his name brought up in years.

You interpret my comments as that he went down some loony tail since he stopped writing those columns, all I meant to imply is that he vanished from the public discourse. Other than this brief window, I don't rightly know his take on anything or what he's been up to in the last few years since he stepped away from his position at NYT.

Before commenting I’d suggest actually listening to the interview.

The OP's link suffices for this thread.

Your link isn't complete either, it just cuts off the interview at a different place than the OP's. Its a couple of minutes longer and the interview question it includes, about taxing bajillionaires, while a logical direction for the interview to go into, wasn't really germane to Krugman's slur on Twitter/X specifically, nor his evaluation of the value of SpaceX generally, that the OP brought up.

Ok thanks, fair.
