President Joe Biden issued a preemptive pardon for Dr. Anthony Fauci to protect him from potential retaliation and politically motivated prosecutions by the incoming Trump administration

No big deal. Sho nuff found someone saying Covid was over.  Totally a moderate stance here

The moderate take on Fauci is that he made some mistakes, but he’s not a criminal and Covid isn’t his fault.  His biggest mistake was recommending some people get 2 doses of the very effective Trump vaccine rather than trying to get 1 dose to as many people as possible.

Another moderate take:  if the admin tries to officially challenge Fauci’s pardon as “not legitimate,” it would prove they are an absolute joke.  Biden commented on Fauci’s pardon, “bUt dA aUtOpEn!” is just an utterly ridiculous argument.

I don’t think Trump is dumb enough to do that though.

A moderate take would be to acknowledge the extremely high likelihood that Biden was not running things by the end of his term.

Also, when I saw you posted here, I thought it would be to admit that Bret Weinstein was right about Fauci funding gain of function research in Wuhan...

... haha, no I didn't.  You aren't man enough to admit it.  :(

My view on Dr. Fauci is that he is a hero, completely undeserving of the treatment he has received, and will hopefully go down in history as a great man.

Guess I’m no moderate…

There’s no reason to assume this. He was slow and not always with it (see our current President as well) but there is no evidence that anyone else made important decisions for him and I don’t believe it. Without evidence it’s not a “moderate take.”

So funding the operation and then lying & covering it up wasn’t a mistake?

Of course there is reason.  I didn't say it was absolute, but it's certainly not "utterly ridiculous" like Moderate Tim said.

The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears.  It was their final, most essential command.

Biden commented on Fauci’s pardon.  He knew what he was doing.  It’s utterly ridiculous to say otherwise.

Per usual you are incapable of nuance.  I stand by what I’ve said in the past.

Did the WIV perform gain of function research?  Probably

Did Fauci fund projects at the WIV? Yes

Did Fauci fund gain of function research at the WIV?  I haven’t seen evidence of that.  If the WIV was doing gain of function research, in all likelihood they still would have done it regardless of whether or not they got funding from Fauci.

No you’re assuming things that aren’t in evidence. Yes we can agree that Biden wasn’t right. I was wrong about that. The biggest piece of evidence was, of course, a few minutes of the debate. But several times after that debate, Biden gave interviews and unprompted talks that demonstrated that he could be cogent at times. As with Trump now, I suspect this came and went.

But you have taken this fact (Biden’s sometimes lack of lucidity) and jumped to the conclusion that unnamed others were calling the shots in terms of the Presidency during Biden’s last months in office. There’s no evidence, it’s not a reasonable assumption, it’s not a rational assumption or a moderate one at this point. Not without evidence. It’s a guess on your part. Nothing more. And the lack of evidence argues very strongly against it.

No, just saying I’m not making up that she was likely pushed out.  And I’m not even saying she was fired.  Maybe she technically did resign but knew the writing was on the wall.

Not everyone quits their job when their spouse gets cancer.   In fact they usually need to keep their job for the health insurance.

she spent how many years in the military?

maybe you should look into health coverage for lifetime vets and civil servants

and I know you support the party that doesnt believe in family so its not really surprising you take that stance

We also know she originally stated her last day was going to be 6/30.

There were reports Pulte (side note, a housing dude as interim DNI, what are we doing?) called her on 6/9 to tell her that day was her last day.  She then spoke to Trump and they agreed her last day would be 6/19.

Don’t think that’s typical for someone resigning on their own terms.

The moderate take is you making stuff up. He literally oversaw gain of function in Wuhan China. Why the fock is Fauci using our tax dollars to make bioweapons capable of infecting the entire world?

I will never understand how liberals will look at someone and excuse them for making bioweapons that could potentially wipe out humanity just because they are a liberal.

Another moderate take might be that Fauci is a narcissist like many in power and thought he knew what was best for us regardless of the risk.  He funded gain of function research for what he perceived as the good of society.  A moderate might say he did the wrong thing for the right reasons.  What *I* have a problem with is the cover up.  IF he had come clean when he was found out I might have still wanted him held accountable but I might have been willing to show him some grace.  But the evidence is overwhelming that he funded GOF research and then tried to cover it up.  That is unforgivable in this MODERATE'S opinion.

This is why I rarely engage with you.  I provided the evidence you asked for and you lie about it and mischaracterize it.   You're everything wrong with this bored right now.

A post from January 2020, the first in a thread with almost 25,000 replies and not pointing to any others, isn’t overwhelming evidence that Fauci funded gain of function research.  HTH.

How is that mea culpa on Bret Wienstein coming?

My evidence is that the policies of his presidency were much more progressive than the previous 50-ish years of his political life.  Also how he looked lost more often than not those last 12 months.

Certainly not "utterly ridiculous."

His prodigious use of the autopen was a good clue as well.  And when I say his I really mean whoever was pulling the strings in that administration.

Not sure why you keep bringing up Weinstein, pretty sure my main criticism of him was about ivermectin, which of course was never shown to be effective against Covid.

You just love this comment.  Nobody said it was a cure to Covid. I know Motrin wasn’t a cure either. Weird my doctor prescribed it to me.  Almost like fighting other issues you have allows your body to focus on something else

hint there is no cure for the flu. Just like there isnt a vaccine

Great point.

It seems that once again our Lefties (and Moderate Tim, a centrist) are confusing evidence and proof.

There may not be incontrovertible proof that Fauci funded GOF research, but there is a lot of evidence.  Heck, Moderate Tim spelled it out nicely.

There may not be incontrovertible evidence that someone else used the autopen, but there is plenty of evidence.

It's hilarious that Moderate Tim of all people is lecturing me on nuance.  Utterly ridiculous!

Huh?  I didn’t say cure, I said effective.  And Weinstein even touted a study he claimed showed it was “100% effective,” but later admitted he was wrong to do that.
