The basic explanation: His daughters shouldn't be made to feel uncomfortable in the men's restroom.

Therefore it is ok to make other girls feel uncomfortable in the women's restroom by his presence.

Most gas stations I have been to have single occupancy restrooms often requiring you get the key from the attendant.  As such you really aren't encountering anyone else in that restroom so the sex or gender of the room does not really matter.  Now in those large stations, like truck stops, which have large restrooms meant to accomodate serveral persons at once I note that the mens restrooms generally have urinals which are not too private while the women's rooms have stalls offering substantial visual privacy.  I can undrstand a man not wanting to take his daughters through the mens room.

 

Me, I solved this the few times I had my daughters without my wife being with me to handle matters by either waiting for the womens room to be empty which I found out by shouting in, or sending them in with a helpful woman I recruited on scene and standing alert by the door for them to emerge in a timely fashion.

 

From the video he and his kids were in a single occupancy room and had not locked the door.  The woman either saw him go in or found him in there and was looking to make an issue.  She should have simply waited.  Hell, had a woman been in there instedad of this man and his kids she would have had to wait.  He discommoded her not at all.  Just a good father raising his kids running across folks looking for an issue, hoping for an issue.  How about instead of trying to make an issue we extend each other a bit of grace?

Sorry. A solo dad with two daughters has every right to use an empty women's bathroom, rather than take his two daughters into a men's restroom.

Because of this, my wife asked me what I did with our daughters.  I honestly don't remember, which makes me think I took them into the men's room because it feels like I would remember standing there with other women in a women's room.  

But I don't really care.  As others have pointed out, it's nothing like a trans woman (or predator dressed as a woman) going into a women's room.

Another failed gotcha by Tim, must be a day that ends in Y.

I asked the wife as well.  Her opinion was that a man with young daughters should take them into the men's bathroom - OR - wait outside the women's while he lets them in.

QuikTrip is generally multi stall bathrooms, although not 100% sure which this was.

To your last question, I think that is the same question being asked about why letting trannies use the bathroom they identify with is such a big deal to righties.

As a woman who uses a women's restroom, this is NOT even remotely the same and the fact that it's being compared is idiotic.

I can tell you what would have happened if those little girls had gone into the women's restroom alone with the dad waiting outside. Nothing. Other BIOLOGICAL women tend to have the instinct to keep an eye on children in restrooms; at least if we see them in there alone. If ANYONE tries to Fock with those kids, other women WILL step in. I have had men waiting outside the women's room shout when the door opens to see if their kid responds, "Yeah dad, I am here." or whatever. 

I don't recall what my husband did with our daughter, but I imagine when she was small he took her in the mens room and used a stall. OR a family restroom if one was available. Once she was older (maybe 5 or 6) she likely went into the women's room alone, and he waited. We're talking 15 or more years ago. 

At any rate, with the way things are these days - I can totally see how a father would be apprehensive going into the men's room with his girls, or sending them into a women's room alone KNOWING that there are non-biological perverts that insist they get to go in there too. This is the fear that society has created; women's spaces are no longer safe even for young girls for whatever reason. 

I can't blame the dad for doing this, but it is 10000% NOT the same as a trans-female going in the restroom. I really wish the comparisons like this would stop, because they are just stupid.
