Both were/are big stories, obviously: legendary elderly senators in poor health with obvious mental lapses were missing important votes in a closely divided Senate. Obviously with different parties, depending on what team you're on, you root for the one to come back as soon as possible while hoping the other one stays away. Quote

Has any Republican asked for Mitch to step down? The dude has been stroking out in public for over a year on camera. Quote

Not publicly. I think there's been two really bad public freezes (at least that I recall, don't quote me) otherwise he seemed to recover and was mostly functional until there weeks ago. Maybe. That was the impression I got; the spotlight has been off him since he stepped down as Majority Leader. Quote

He can still make public appearances and can still mostly succeed in reading a teleprompter. McConnell hasn't said anything in public in two months and all we get is a hospital picture. The end really looks near for him and he's worth 16 points in tbe death pool. You hope he's still mentally there and has enough juice let in the tank to be wheeled around Washington for a few months worth of encore at some poin so he can cast votes.. Quote

I'll agree with you there. I just don't like these pictures from hospital rooms unless that's what they want. There are some things that should be off limits. People who sit outside people's homes and take pictures and stuff, is that TMZ? That crap should be illegal. Quote

squistion Posted August 6 Posted August 6 https://x.com/kylegriffin1/status/2085438323712033179 NEW: Mitch McConnell just released a statement that he has been discharged from rehab and is now recovering at home. It's been almost two months since McConnell was last seen in public. He has refused to speak on camera to confirm his faculties, despite demand from Gov. Beshear. Quote
