kilroy69 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I had this happen one time. In Ann Arbor Michigan. I got lost and saw a cop sitting in his squad car AT A CHURCH. My window did not work so I parked next to him and approached his car at a normal pace. Keep in mind this was broad daylight, I am the whitest guy you will ever see and I had on dress clothes for onsite work. I was clean shaven and my hair was combed. I had on dress shoes even. All this to say I am the absolute least likely person to ever be looked at as a threat. This meathead of a cop jumped out of his car and drew his gun on me. He backed me into my car as I was trying to explain what I was doing and why I could not just roll down my window. I literally had to talk to him from my door that was cracked. I told him I was lost and he told me that was not his problem and to take off. When you hear this story and you picture the cop in your mind. That is what he looked like. Not joking at all. Flat top. Looked like I might have caught him mid donut break. It was crazy man. I had never had that happen before or after. Shitt the only reason I even went to ask him was because I was taught as a kid to look for a cop if your lost. I had one literally escort me to I-75 as a young driver because I got lost around the techwood homes area of atlanta. That guy never even blinked when I asked him for help. Quote
Strike Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Definitely a wide variety of demeanor with cops. That's why it's important to do whatever you can to make them feel comfortable. Doesn't justify their crappy actions sometimes but one on one in the streets isn't the place to deal with that. I've had some bad encounters with cops but fortunately never had a gun pulled on me that I can remember. in hindsight I can think of at least a couple of those encounters where things might be different today than when I had those encounters. 1 Quote
seafoam1 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Yep. In Albuquerque NM. I confused the fock out of the guy and got away. Quote

You probably caught him about to use excessive force on his johnson in that parking lot. Quote

weepaws Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Yes, a family friend, who wanted to kill himself, I was talked her out of doing so, during the middle of me trying to convince her to put the gun down, she pointed right at me, but it worked, she is still alive and doing great today, this happened in 1994 1 Quote

Fnord Posted July 7 Posted July 7 I have a couple times. One was just random. I was sitting shotgun in my buddy's car in south Minneapolis. We turned a corner and as we turned there was a dude standing in his yard with a shotgun aimed at the car. We GTFO. A friend and I were out Jeeping in NorCal and were looking for a river crossing. My friend told me to take a turn where he thought it was, but he was wrong. I went about 100 yards from the road and there was a fence dead-ending the road. I put the Jeep in R and turned around and there was already a truck blocking me in. The driver and I both got out simultaneously and I was just about to apologize when he pulled out a BIG revolver and leveled it at me. I explained what happened and luckily he must have believed me cuz he let us go and told us if we ever trespassed again it'd be the last thing we did. It was only after he moved his truck and I began backing out that I looked around and saw several marijuana plants the size of pine trees. $200k worth, minimum. And that's just what I saw in like 2 seconds. @RaiderHaters Revenge, this is why I was told to mind what roads I was traveling on while in the Trinity/Humboldt area. I have zero doubt the dude meant what he said, and it backed up one of the local sayings I heard: "It's easier to hide the body than it is to hide the plants." Quote
cyclone24 Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Once a long long time ago, but it wasn’t anything nefarious it was just these two dumbass brothers and one of them pulled it real quick and aimed it at me. I don’t remember what I said, but I don’t think I had much to do with them after that. They were into writing bad checks and crap like that. You definitely remember it though Quote

Man I was moving slow. I am very aware of my surroundings and what is going on. I did not want to scare him. He just jumped out of his car and turned into the fat guy from super troopers. I was legit shocked. Damn near tripped and fell as I was being walked back to the car like a criminal. Quote

Alias Detective Posted July 7 Posted July 7 Sure have. Jacked a guy in the jaw for popping off. He proceeded to wait for me outside the bar. He had a gun, mine wasn’t on me but in my truck. I just kept walking to my vehicle and he walked away. Tried to scare me I guess. Quote

MikeMatt Posted July 7 Posted July 7 1988. Went to my regular dealer in Queens for weed in the middle of the night. Put my $20 under the door expecting bag of weed but he handed back crack. I was like WTF is this bla bla bla. Knocking on the door like an idiot demanding weed (dumbass I was) and he opened the door with a gun in my face and said get the F outta here - I was gone in na instant. First time I smoked crack that night 2 Quote

BudBro Posted July 8 Posted July 8 My friend was part of a road rage incident. The other guy stopped his vehicle and got out. My friend stopped and also got out (dumb). They proceeded to roll around in the ditch in winter (hysterical considering both were over age 60). My friend pulled the other guy's coat up over his head to discover a holstered handgun. He disarmed the dude and walked away down the road. My friend called 911 to bring help. At the end of it all, my friend was charged with felony menacing (I live in a blue state that has lost all sense). It took a year of court hearings to clear him. If convicted, he would have gone to prison for 5 years for disarming a gun carrier because the gun carrier felt "in danger" by the other guy taking his gun while he was fighting him. Blue states deserve whatever we get. Quote

Hawkeye21 Posted July 8 Posted July 8 I think a farmer pulled a shotgun on us when we were out on a road trip back in high school. I can't remember if we drove through his yard or if we smashed his mail box. Quote

Both my parents are teetotaling sobriety advocates, so naturally I went the opposite direction. To each their own. Quote
