I watched a YouTube video about him a couple of years ago, interesting guy In the 1980s, Tyler ventured into rock music with songwriter and producer Jim Steinman. He wrote Tyler's biggest hit, "Total Eclipse of the Heart", which sold over 13 million copies worldwide and was released as the lead single from her 1983 UK chart-topping album Faster Than the Speed of Night. I'm a big enough fan of Steinman's work that I can usually recognize one of his songs the first time I hear it. He's the maestro of overwrought, epic pop numbers. He wrote every Meatloaf hit, Bonnie Tyler's biggest hits, along with huge hits by Air Supply, Barry Manilow, Celine Dion, and even friggin Sisters of Mercy. Quote
