I didn’t watch and look forward to watching replay. I read Netflix did a terrible job at least in the beginning - terrible commentary and really bad camera work. Couldn’t follow ball and no idea if HR or not. (Just from an article I read - actually awful announcing page -) I will not be checking this thread out until after I see replay tonight.

They wasn't to bad at it on my end.

Yeah you are partially correct….great run derby but the MLB has a major marketing problem. There were alot of people that either didnt know it was on tonight or that it was on Netflix.
Then earlier this week was the mlb draft. I’m guessing almost nobody knew that was this week. Couldn’t have told you what channel it was on. Apparently, it was on two different channels two different days. No previews of who might get taken and when.
It is the absolute worst major sport when it comes to these kinds of things compared to the NFL draft, which is amazing or the NBA draft, which is also really good.

I mean some of these guys were really scalding the ball tonight so it was a little hard to track but they spent so much time putting the camera on random fans. Like they showed this one kid I swear to God like four straight times and I don’t know if it was Harper‘s kid or what but it was like enough already and then you miss part of the home run.

and the magenta ball was ass. Nobody could see it

Didn't watch.  Really don't care about it.  I did find it interesting that the kid who won makes 800k a  year playing baseball but won 1 million for winning the home run derby.

When I was a kid we had a channel that replayed the old home run derbies of the 50s and 60s. In black and white. They were outstanding back then

There have been 3 surefire 500 footers in mlb history and likely many more before you could really be sure of it because of the bad measurement devices. Shitt one guy blasted a massive 582 footer in the minors.

that wasalotta fun. Great ending. I was actually rooting for home town Kyle but was happy with the underdog win. Glad I didn’t read thread and ruin outcome.

Yeah, same. I’ve made Kyle a couple times and he’s genuine as they come. Just a great human.

My tidbit claimed of fame as I caught one of his home run batting practice balls at the World Series. And it was a rocket just like you saw last night. Couldn’t have been more right at me.

Well he was only hitting .240/.302/.378 in his three previous seasons (1,039 PA) with 27 HR and 112 RBI...  Not much to warrant a pay increase from slightly above league minimum...

Don’t forget I’m a Mets fan. However I do hear a lot of good things about him. It’s all about that in life. Be a good person.
