She can work anywhere and I retired at 56 with a pension and the government is paying me 75% of my SS until I hit 62. This place is huge , 160k now . Up in MA we just had above ground pools Still have to have the final coat on the deck and the landscaping done Quote

Yesterday we had a few people out and next week someone for the water will be servicing it every day. Our pool builder is local and lives a mile from me and has a great rep so I’m not worried. Been doing some research into robot vacs for the pool to buy after it’s turned over to us, do you have one? dui’s do happen on golf carts but you have to be a real dumbass to get one. I'm learning pools are way different than hot tubs. The amount of water makes it easy to get it right chemically and if you get dirt, or alge, or 6 inches of sand there are ways to treat, clean and filter it out. You don't just empty and refill every 6 months like hot tubs for obvious reasons. Yes a robot cleaner is a must have. We have the Beatbot A100 Pro and it's awesome. Cordless, when it's charged up you just throw it in and it will clean the bottom, sides by climbing the walls and the surface. Any combination of those you can set in settings. It will run 3 or 4 hours on a charge and automatically comes to the surface when done or is out of charge. My buddy got a more industrial one because of the sand, but he has to lug a cord around that it's always hooked up to. Trust me, you want a robot and it's worth the expense. Why type of pool? Liner/fiberglass/concrete? We went with fiberglass. Liners have to be replaced every 7-10 years and might not hold up to dogs even though we decided to teach our dogs to stay out of it. Concrete you have to be real careful with alkalinity and even then might need to be acid washed every 7-10 years. Salt is by far better with modern day chlorine generators. It's been super easy for me so far. With the chlorine generator being brand new it's on the lowest setting and keeps it just about right under regular use. I have to turn it off sometimes if we don't use the pool for a while. The PH of our water out of the tap is 8.0 so I adjusted that down. And hardness low so I adjusted that up even though the fiberglass isn't affected by alkalinity like concrete pools it can eat away at heater components and such. Everything else just stays in range. We're going to get a salt water hot tub too so we don't have to constantly add chlorine or bromine. 1 1 Quote
Horseman Posted July 26 Posted July 26 The only bad thing about our robot is that it needs 12 inches of water to run and we have a tanning ledge that's only 8 inches deep. I have to play pool boy and clean that with the skimmer vacuum. Auto cover is nice too. Don't need a fence around it as it counts for child-fall-drowning protection.
