Question about Custom Scoring

My league uses a non-standard statistic as part of our scoring for QBs -- a sack in my league counts as -1 points against a QBs total.  I imported a list of 2026 QB sack projections into the "Custom 1" column (EX) of the QB worksheet of the Draft Buddy spreadsheet.  I have the "FF Pts" column set to -1 for the Field Name of "Custom 1" on the "2a. Custom Scoring" worksheet.  I'm confused as to which "Custom Ranking" option I should select, 1A, 2A, or 3A?  Also, after I determine which Ranking to use do I then need to go to the "5. Action" do a worksheet and execute a "Compile Cheatsheets"?  Or do I need to select "Update Projections"?  Thanks in advance for the help.

Hi Bob. Just leave the Ranking column as set to 0 (zero). It is kind of a two-option thing. You either want to RANK players by what you put in the custom fields, and use the Ranking options to do that. Or you want to ADD fantasy points to the FPts otherwise already calculated off the scoring tab. For that last one use the FFPts and Per Unit cells, which you have. So it sounds like you're set as long as you keep the option under Ranking to 0.

Yes, you need to hit Compile Cheatsheets to have this change apply to your cheatsheet rankings. Something you can do before that... check the QB FPts on the offense tab. Then check the FPts on the QB tab. They should be different. Offense tab has the FPts from the last time you ran Compile. QB tab has FPts based on current settings including your custom scoring changes. Hit Compile and they should match up.

Thanks Mike.  That worked perfectly.  One last question:  When there's an update to your projections (imported via the Update Projections button on the "5. Action" worksheet) OR a 2.0 version of Draft Buddy comes out will the spreadsheet automatically pick up the projected sacks that I put in the "Custom 1" column of the QB worksheet or will I need to re-import that data?

The data you put in the custom fields will stay right there with the proper players through the update, so you are all good there.
