I've never been sniped so bad, so many times in any draft that I can recall. The biggest positive was being correct that rounds 2 and 3 would be a huge RB run so I'm happy with Achane/Henry at 11 and 14. The problem was subsequently getting sniped on Olave and McConkey. Had I picked McConkey and then been sniped on Wilson, I may have zagged and grabbed a 3rd RB but Breece was the only faller and I could not muster the fortitude to take back to back Jets as well as a third player with a week 13 bye in 4 picks. I'm interested in your take though. Why do you consider a roster in a 12 team league that has 4 #1 RBs, post draft, to be weak at the position? I see the risks with all of them, Achane and Judkins with their offenses (although lets be real, both offenses were dog shiit last year and they finished 5th and 26th in PPG), Henry with age and Dobbins obviously with injury. But there are teams whose number 2's are the likes of Pollard, Price, Brooks etc.

But there are teams whose number 2's are the likes of Pollard, Price, Brooks etc. Achane - Lost McDaniels who I feel was instrumental in Achane's success, bottom 10 offensive line, bottom 5 defense, moved from a checkdown QB to a running QB. All this points to less carries, less catches and less efficiency. Judkins - bottom 5 offensive line, bottom 10 defense, QB sucks, coming off major injury. I do like Henry even though he's 187 years old, he hasn't slipped yet. I like Dobbins as well even though he's an injury waiting to happen, but his situation, top 5 defense and OL means he's gonna get opportunities. I would also consider picking up Jonah Coleman who will replace Dobbins as the early down back. Looking at the 11 spot in a 12er, I do think RB/RB is the correct move, I just would have picked other RBs. Not sure who was there, but I have Chase Brown and Ken Walker both higher than Henry especially in a PPR, and then I have Hampton and Jeanty ahead of Achane. Coming back to the 3/4, I assume you took Judkins? I would have went WR/WR as someone in the Nabers/Flowers/Higgins/Waddle/McConkey tier would be there, probably 2 of them. For 5/6 you could have gone anywhere, maybe a WR from the previous tier but then you're also looking at Brooks/Dobbins/Mason for your RB3
Ron_Artest Posted August 30 Posted August 30 I did my first draft last night. 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR/TE flex, K, D. 14 team league QB: T Law, Kyler RB: Bucky Irving, Blake Corum, Mike Washington WR: Amon Ra, Malik Nabers, Ladd McConkey, Jakobi Meyers TE: Pitts, Kittle K: Aubrey DST: Pitt Weak RBs but only start one so I scooped up WRs early while everyone else ran on RBs. I like Bucky this year, was happy to get him and then got 2 others with upside. If Kittle comes back healthy and does well I will look to move him for a RB as there are some weak TE teams. See once I saw I was screwed at RB, I looked to see where other teams had excess and they were screwed at TE so I picked up Kittle for trade.

It's a league where people know their stuff so Coleman is not available. 3/4 "turn" was Wilson and Moore. As I mentioned I was sniped first on Olave and then on McConkey. Nabers, Flowers, Higgins all gone. The only thing that could have changed was picking McConkey in round 3 instead of Wilson who would have gone right after. Judkins was round 5.

RB is actually weak, but less important here, as noted. Small starting lineups though, even for a 14 teamer. 1 RB usually results in 2 flex. If you already took Pitts, I'm not sure Kittle was the right call, depending on what else was available. Luxury picks with the hope of trading don't often work out... but if he pulls a George Kittle and returns to form, he's simply another WR you can plug into your flex. I don't personally like Nabers in the 2nd but its a good WR trio. B-, B+ with a better top RB.

I don't love my team and I don't disagree with the original commentary regarding his injury risk but it seems a tad contradictory. in a TE premium league Kittle was the 11th TE off the board and Fannin was the 12th?

Not TE premium in that TE scoring is different. What I meant is that people in this league tend to value TEs more than other leagues. I'm good with little as a backup TE like I got but would not want to rely on him to start the season coming off his Achilles. I do like Ferguson for upside but not starter immediately. I like Hampton but I don’t personally see a RB1 or WR1 on this squad meaning you don’t have a true “stud” as far as projections go. But what you do have is a very deep team when Tet is your 4th receiver in a 12 man league. You were obviously able to build that depth by ignoring tight end. Then again a lot of backup tight ends drafted in Te mandatory leagues probably don’t even get selected in this format. im giving it an A but that may be generous 1

Looking at the other squads there are a two I def like better both spent nothing on QB. I threw out Josh Allen in first round and put a 20 dollar bid on him (he went for 32 last year) and no one bid. That kind of messed me up as I didn’t want to spend half my cash so early. I usually shell out for at least one big time WR. Hate trying to decide who to start amongst a bunch of 2’s and having bench dude go off.

The top QBs are expensive, Allen has gone for $45 and $43 the past 2 years. But once people spend up on top talent, the other guys fall off because the market is shot. Again I'm just pricing off ADP. Obviously if those "popular" guys are overvalued they will go for more and I'll adjust. Based on ADP the guys I mentioned fall into the WR17-WR24 range, thats in the $20-$15 each. RBs will be more challening as those guys I listed are in the $25-$30 range. And of course the rest of my team will be $1 players. I track everything in a giant spreadsheet, the last 6 seasons of auctions, prices and FF points and then I build roster based on historical ADPs plus this year's ADP to find the right combination of players. This league has been going on for 28 years, it's competitive. 1

Not trying to argue but QB17 is the 5th backup QB taken in a redraft, so yeah, it is an earlier QB2. you know your league and their tendencies. I’m surprised a guy like Goff isn’t going for $20+ when QBs are made into a premium. as for the receivers, I’m just saying you listed a bunch of guys that everyone who reads FF material is high on. The difference between redraft and auction here is this… redraft: one guy reaches a half round for Luther Burden and 4 guys go “darn, was hoping he would make it to my next pick!” auction: all 5 owners who like Luther Burden can drive his price up. so I think it will be tough to get all the backs and receivers you listed in a competitive league. jmo
