Who gets nervous when draft day comes

26th year of ff and I still get them nervous jitters night before draft day their good jitters but I can’t believe I’m the only one.

Same. 25+ years in the same big money league and draft night is the greatest - mine's Friday night. Live draft with old friends I rarely see, but get together once a year for a special drunken draft night. 15 years ago after I got married, my wife asked me to skip it for whatever she wanted us to do instead and let them auto-draft my team or whatever. That was a bit of a fight; I had to set her straight - to me draft night is better than Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled into one. I miss it for nobody.  

It's funny - we're supposed to drive 8 hrs to see her parents this weekend, but because my draft is Friday, she didn't say a word. She knows I ain't going anywhere until after my draft. So we leave around 3 am Sat morning instead. I'll probably still be drunk, sleeping in the car and dreaming about my Championship team. 

Been analyzing players for months and mock drafting for weeks. Feeling good.  But yeah, jitters about players I like who may or may not be where I hope in later rounds.

Draft is tonight and this is the most unprepared I have ever been. No cheat sheet, no nothing and I really don't care.  I don't know if that is a good sign or a bad one.

At this point (season 30) my nerves are more about the unexpected curveballs from other people in the league.

The guy with an ADP around 100, who I hoped to get around round 8, and someone picks him in round 5.

Or a player with an ADP around 50 who’s still there in round 6, so I shift my strategy mid draft and go best player available.

Or the QB I think I can wait on, there’s a run on QB’s, and he’s gone earlier than I wanted to draft a QB.

You can do 1,000 mock drafts and it won’t prepare you for other people doing unexpected stuff.

25+ as well.  Drafting Saturday night, I'm only nervous about my draft position because I feel a Top 3 pick is advantageous as heck this year.

That's the thing about mock drafts - everyone is on the same platform staring at the same rankings. For the most part, it's relatively predictable where players will go.

Then comes the LIVE DRAFT. One dude has a CBS ranking, another with ESPN, Yahoo, Draft Sharks, FantPros, etc.........   Chaos ensues. On one hand it's great as some players fall much lower than expected. And on the flip side, some go ridiculously high.  Makes estimating where a player will be at any given time difficult.

My two drafts have been completed, didn't stress it, going into my 38 year, it's pretty, yawn, relaxing day

I dont get nervous.   my drafts are an opportunity to see som friends I likely havnt seen in a year.    

I usually will have a couple of wobbly pops so I do make sure I am well prepared and I stick to the list regardless of what I wanna do once I've had a couple of beers.

34th Year.     Always a blast, many of the same core guys from the beginning.    Think I drank something that pickled my liver.

I don't get nervous per se.  It's more like anticipation.  Sort of like a kid on Christmas morning.
