CMC, I get it.  Age and injury history.  

But what about Jonathan Taylor?  He’s 27, so still in that prime age for RBs that are big bruising backs.  No signs of regression last year.  The Colts seem to be getting better and have a top 5 offensive line according to most “experts” I’ve read.  Finally, Daniel Jones is on track to start the season and will likely not be allowed to run as much considering his injuries last year - that’s 5 rushing TDs.

Just curious why Taylor isn’t in that top two discussion?  I think he is for me now.

He was looking like a breakout guy in 2025 before the injury.  Assuming that’s healed and he’s good to go, I’ve got him in that 2nd tier, behind Bowers & McBride, and on par with Loveland & Warren.  Too optimistic?

So what you need to look for is a steady drum beat of good information.  In Mendoza's case it seems to be a steady drum beat of luke warm information and that says to me he's on a JAG trajectory.

Recurring theme seems to be he has more command of the offense, but what concerns me about the way it's always written is how it's compared to the mini-camps where it appears he didn't know anything about the offense.  Couple that with the Raiders already naming Cousins the starter and the Raiders clearly aren't seeing a lot from Mendoza.

I did see some fan poll saying he'd be a top 10 QB by like week 6 or some nonsense.

In an environment where everyone likes to glaze everything athletes do, it's surprising to me that there isn't much glazing going on so far.

Nabers had torn his ACL late last season and has now had a cleanup procedure on his knee.    not that that is uncommon or anything but it makes me feel like he should be avoided for this year in redraft.

typically an ACL takes 18 months to heal fully anyway. and he injured his fairly late in the year.   so I'm thinking hes likely not worth drafting in redraft leagues until next year.

anyhow, figured I'd poll the group and see if there are any other opinions on the matter.   I'd especially like to see something from Jrokh.   hes a giants homer but I have found him to be fairly unbiased and even somewhat critical of his own team (which to me makes his opinion valuable as far as homers go)

Still only 22 years old, he was the RB1 in the 2024 draft, with an elite pass catching pedigree. 

I just traded for him in a couple leagues, both cost me a 2028 2nd round rookie pick. 

I've heard people say they are staying away from the J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets. That he's been force fed and is a product of volume more than being an elite player. He's currently in the 3rd tier ranking in the 15-20 range depending on where you look. What are your thoughts on Garrett Wilson?

Seems like the last hurrah for Taysom since I doubt anyone else would be willing to overpay this man as much as the saints have overpaid him over the years.

Sources within the Dallas Cowboys have told the KLBK-13 Sports Department that the Cowboys have signed wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Terms of his contract have not been disclosed.

The Cowboys plan to announce the signing of Owens officially in a press conference on Monday.

Owens was ran out of Philadelphia after bad-mouthing the Eagles organization and quarterback Donovan McNabb last season. Owens is also remembered for taunting the Dallas Cowboys and its fans on the "Texas Stadium Star" while he was a member of the San Francisco 49ers a few years ago.

Keeping Gibbs & Lamb.  For the 3rd, picking between Chase Brown, AJ Brown & Olave.  Right now I’m probably 45% C. Brown, 45% Olave, 10% AJB, but could bump him up if traded to a better situation than Philly.

Suggestions?  

- Omarion Hampton at 1.09 is the first thing that jumps out at me. 
- I'm leaning Gibbs over Bijan at 1.01 due to projected higher team scoring, better QB and favorable schedule.

If the Chiefs trade Mahomes, he will be a net, $57M cap hit. So, why not trade him now? I know, the ACL, I get it. So what? Mahomes' base pay the next 2years is $45M, but the next 4 are $18M, $8M, $31M & $38M. With roster bonuses over the next 6 years, Mahomes will cost the team trading for him:
2026 $56
2027 $52
2028 $26
2029 $34
2030 $45
2031 $47

In today's NFL, that's not bad. Especially since a team trading for him, can release him after the 2029 season and not pay those last 2 seasons. Trade him now and take the $57M cap hit and not worry about it.

Teams that I think could be in the market would be teams that have young QB's with question marks, but a good supporting cast... like Minnesota, Carolina, and Atlanta.  Imagine pairing up Mahomes and Jefferson. That's not worth a trade venture? How about Carolina? They have a decision to make about Young, on whether to pick up his 5th year option. Well, you have a good OLine, a couple of young 1st WR's you just invested in over the last 2 seasons and 2 decent RB's.  Atlanta has Robinson and London.  McCarthy, Young, and Penix are all guys that could be included in a trade to give the Chiefs (and Reid), a new start... or at least a starting point.  Now, the cost would be more than just those young QB's because they are question marks, but it would reduce the draft pick compensation.

This one would see a current member of the team heading elsewhere, however.

While on an episode of his podcast after the Brown trade became official, Adam Schefter of ESPN reported that Kayshon Boutte has been interested in a trade this offseason. Boutte has not been taking part in the team’s voluntary wideouts over the last few weeks.

Boutte is entering the final year of his rookie deal after posting 76 catches for 1,140 yards and nine touchdowns over the last two seasons. The presence of Brown and free agent acquisition Romeo Doubs would seem to lower the odds of the Patriots making another long-term investment in a wideout while also working against Boutte having a big year in New England.

The New York Giants are signing veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. following a workout with the team, they announced on social mediaMonday.

The announcement confirmed a previous report from NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Beckham, along with three other veteran wideouts, worked out for the club Monday after veteran receiver Gunner Olszewski sustained a season-ending Achilles tear last week.

The 33-year-old Beckham did not play in the NFL last season.

Beckham played the first five years of his career with the Giants after being selected 12th overall by the club in the 2014 NFL Draft. He dazzled immediately, making highlight grabs en route to a 1,305-yard, 12 touchdown rookie season. His leaping one-handed grab that season still stands up as one of the game’s most legendary catches.
