A lot of insight in this thread. I am going to keep it simple and just say keep DJ. His potential wins you match ups by himself. Even if Arizona is horrible he will still eat and rack up yardage. I actually think he and Zeke have the best shots at fantasy MVP this year.
It would be real hard for me to pass on Zeke or DJ, but look at these scenarios. I am in a standard league, but looking up a couple PPR boards this is what I came up with depending on if you go RB or WR route with your first pick.
Big Board 1
Pick 1 - AB
Pick 2 - McCaffery or Freeman
Pick 3 - Evans or Hilton
Pick 4 - McKinnon
Pick 1 - Zeke or DJ
Pick 2 - AJ Green
Pick 3 - McKinnon
Pick 4- Jeffery or Cooper
Big Board 2
Pick 1- AB
Pick 2 - Fournette
Pick 3 - McCaffery or McKinnon
Pick 4 - Cooper or Robinson or JuJu
Pick 1 - DJ or Zeke
Pick 2 - Adams or Evans
Pick 3 - McCaffery or McKinnon or Freeman
Pick 4 - Drake or Landry
I am talking big boards right now as a lot will change Im sure in 3 months. I would take Zeke over DJ as I think the Cowboys have a better team and the threat of Dak running keeps defenses honest. I have DJ as a keeper also so hopefully my thoughts are incorrect, but I try to stay unbiased.
Out of all of those scenarios I like the teams with Zeke or DJ the best. Also a common denominator is I would sell out for McKinnon. I think he is going to be perfect for this format. Hopefully this helps the thinking process from my perspective.
We keep it really easy and simple. 2 keepers for a 3 year max period. For instance; if you draft Gurley this year, you have to trade him by the end of your 3rd year with him or he goes back into the pool.
There is no price for a keeper and you have to keep 2 players. Drafting starts what I will call round 1, but because there are 2 keepers per team you basically are starting from round 3. Caveat to our drafting system is it goes 1-12, 1-12, 1-12 like the nfl draft and gives an advantage to those teams who didnt make the playoffs the previous year.
In our losers (toilet) bracket we play for draft picks each year so that the league stays somewhat competitive the whole year.
Tried not to get into real specifics but thats our template of a league
Am I taking crazy pills? Watson being the first QB taken when he hasn't even played a full season yet! He's not even the best QB let alone worth a second round pick. I don't see how anyone could take him ahead of a RB like Jordan Howard who proved everyone wrong this year and should be even better with a more offensive minded coach.
There are so many QBs that can be had at any point in a draft that it just seems like a waste of a pick taking one in the first couple rounds, especially an unproven one. The hype is amazing right now.
Agreed, I understand the hype and he is getting the type of hype that Michael Vick was getting after his extremely impressive fantasy year. I was young and dumb and drafted Vick in the first round and of course he was injured early in the season. Not to say Watson will get injured again, I just think it is too risky of a pick to make in the 2nd round. I'll take Watson if he is there as an upside play in the 4th round, but don't imagine taking a QB until at least the 5th.

I think it depends on what is valued more in the league. I have never done an auction draft but it seems like the logical way of deciding this is if you want both for next year who is going to cost more during an auction to redraft and who will be coveted more? Maybe after saying that I tend to lean more towards keeping Engram as there are more viable QB options to choose from than TEs. You also have to consider who will be throwing to Engram so I am sure you will be paying attention in the offseason.

I have the Vikings def but the Chief are siting on the ww. Miami has basically been fantasy gold for most all def this season.
I think it would be silly to play the chiefs over the Vikings. Packers are down most of their weapons now with Adams and Rodgers out. There is always a possibility of a pick 6 from Cutty, but I think you can say the same thing about Hundley with his inexperience. Vikings are an elite defense.

My thoughts and possible 4 cents worth. I look at a couple different sites for rankings, follow the injury report and how it affects my fantasy players, ask a couple question on these forums to see if people can persuade me to think differently in my preconceived notions of who I would pick after probably digging too far into things like weather, opponent defense rankings...... (big fan of that run on sentence).......... the more time I invest in figuring these things out the more upset I get when I lose.
This year I have finally figured out that all I can do is put out my best possible roster after gaining assets by trade or waiver wire transactions and then what will be will be. I used to let fantasy affect my mood. Cant do that sheit anymore.
I would say 60 percent of this is skill and 40 percent is luck. If you auto drafted and kept your line up the same the whole year you would lose. There is simple skill of plugging in what the computer on your site tells you would get the highest projections and then there is digging deep like I tend to do.
Pretty sure this is the first year in 3 years where I will not make the playoffs in both of my leagues, but as we can trade draft picks and acquire better keepers for next year I made dam sure that I gave it my all to acquire all of the best assets I could for next year.
That 40 percent luck hopefully is on my side this weekend, but am not counting on it!!!!

I think Gio is a sneaky top 10 play this week. I am going to start him over Jamaal Williams. Also going to flex him over Evan Engram in the other league. What is going to help him a lot is that he is a great pass catcher so if the o line doesn't make the holes to run through I could see them doing some effective screen passes or routes out of the backfield to help him succeed.
