For one, he is on the road while every QB you mentioned except Brees is at home.
-
Yeah, he didnt' care about stats; he just put the team first and cared about winning championships. Oh wait...
-
you might want to edit your first post and mention that its a keeper league. That will surely affect opinions regarding Tiki. Also you should tell us who else is available, so we can compare your options.

have you guys had an Art Monk thread yet?
jwvdcw replied to ART MONK 4 HOF!'s topic in FFToday Board
I'm a huge Redskins fan. I think that Monk should be in, but I don't think its a huge tragedy if he doesn't make it. As others have said, he was VERY GOOD for a long time, but he never really was GREAT. In 1984 he was 4th in receiving yards, in 1985 he was 3rd, and in 1989 he was 10th...and those are the only times hes ever been in the top 10. In 1991 he was 9th in TDs- the only time he has ever been in the top 10. Monk had AT THE VERY MOST 2 seasons in which you could argue that he was one of the 5 best WRs in the league: 1984 and 1985, and lets keep in mind that I said ARGUE, as only having 2 TDs in 1985 doesn't help his case. IMO a HOFer should've been DEFINITIVELY top 5 at his position for at the very minimum 3 years. But I'm very strict with my HOF standards. On nearly every one of these on the fence cases, I find myself voting 'no', so take that into account. -
The problem is that those who are disagreeing aren't really listening to him. If those who disagree said "I have watched him play and I disagree that hes bad at catching" or "I have read some inside reports and the Raiders do intend to keep throwing to him" then that'd be a good rebuttal. But your guys entire argument seems to be "Well he caught a lot last year so he must be decent at catching the ball." This argument totally overlooks the OP's point that he only caught a lot due to the system(which has changed!) last year.

Why Barry Sanders is the Greatest RB of ALL Time...
jwvdcw replied to devius's topic in FFToday Board
I compare Barry to Vince Carter. Great highlight reel guy, but has flaws in his game that keep him from being the best of all time. Barry is the best pure runner of all time. But he was a POOR goaline/short yardage back, a completely average receiver, not much of a leader from everything I've heard, never performed well in clutch situations(had one total stinker I think against GB in the playoffs. Only 1 game over 100 yards in the playoffs), and not a very good blocker. Contrast that to someone like Walter Payton who did EVERYTHING well. Barry is great as a pure runner in the open field and he is a joy to watch. But he isn't in that small first tier of RBs because he comes up short in many areas. He makes the second tier imo. Emmitt Smith imo did all of those little things well and belongs in the first tier with Payton, Brown, and maybe one or two others. -
"Great teams are built around the kicking game." I have never heard anyone say this.

ITS THE PRESEASON!!!! Gibbs is a great coach who has never really tried in the preseason. Look at how they finished last year: at St. Louis Rams | W | 24- 9 | | 14 | at Arizona Cardinals | W | 17-13 | | 15 | Dallas Cowboys | W | 35- 7 | | 16 | New York Giants | W | 35-20 | | 17 | at Philadelphia Eagles | W | 31-20 | +--------+-------------------------------+----------+---------+ Postseason NFC Wildcard Game: won 17 - 10 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFC Divisional Playoff: lost 10 - 20 at Seattle Seahawks That matters a lot more than some meaningless preseason games.

I can vouch that this is legit.
-
keeper league he is an easy first rounder. I'm surprised he lasted to 11. I have him at #4 in a keeper draft.
-
yes, easily. Not to mention, Brady won his first with Antowain Smith as his RB and a defense that was 24th in the league in yardage allowed. Oh, and he took over that team in week 3 when they were already 0-2 so he was behind the 8 ball to start.
-
You all are idiots. Pinner is a legit threat, and wherever he goes he will take some carries. Hes been underrated so far in his career, but you can't deny legit talent for that long. Pinner will take the starting job from whomever is on his team IMO.
-
why does he have more upside than Cadillac? In fact, why does he have more upside than Portis or Tiki?

Since I decided to play just 10+1 SnG tourneys...

As far as moving up to the $22s, general wisdom says.... You should have 30-50 buy ins for a game that you know you can consistently beat. You should have 50-100 buy ins if you aren't sure. -
I paid well over $50,000 for an autographed game used Sam Snead jersey, lol.
