4 players that will "blow up" this week

    With a 53x flop...

    Is this trade fair?

I would also never do this trade... however, a paying member of a league has every right to conduct business in any way he sees fit... ...and it will be up to the others in the league to decide whether to invite the trader of Thomas into the league next year.
  3. Thank you for replying to mine... There's no reason for you to do the trade... unless there is a deficiency, a "wash" trade doesn't do much except spice up the season for you

Week 7 trade: Jennings for Mason

I'd like find out who gets the better of this trade: Greg Jennings for Derrick Mason. Will help in return, just leave a link...

    Fantasy ethics

You have no bylaws for this. You are steward of your league's rules, nothing more. A responsible commissioner puts up for vote changes to league rules to fully define actionable items. D0uchebag commissioners act on non-deterministic assertions of intent, or worse, create moral hazards by enacting rule changes mid season.

    Fantasy ethics

It's none of your business to determine intent. Every owner has the right to conduct business on their team as the rules allow. You have no bylaws about intent, no reasonable league's constitution is modified midseason. Hence, it's a non-issue.

    Fantasy ethics

Put it up for vote at the end of the season. You have no tanking rules, no bye week roster rules... you can be "concerned" about it all you want, but it has zero relevance. You posted your league rules -- it had no definitive language... there's nothing for you to debate.

    Fantasy ethics

You have no issue... you have no binding bylaw.

    Fantasy ethics

This bylaw is wishy washy. You used the non-binding word could in your constitution... you might as well not written it at all.

Bonehead Draft Pick Award At Your Draft?

    Bump for posterity.
  11. E Manning/Orton Slaton/Rice/McGahee/DBrown Moss/Marshall/Housh/MSW/Edwards Clark/Heap Akers ... and I'm 1-4 All four losses were against the high scorers for the week, and I should have won two of them.

C0ckblocking: Do it or worry about your own team...

I wish more people would talk about strategy in this manner... In what I affectionately term "freeleagues", the ROI on pickups, drops, and trades are zero. So, I tend to think asking advice for a freeleague is without value.

Just made a trade....gimme honest opinions

Your trade partner got close to nothing of value in your trade. Hester is interchangeable with Knox and Bennett in terms of value which has a ceiling of WR3. Harrison is an injury replacement for Jamal Lewis and Mangini has made no indication that Harrison is the starter for the rest of the year. And Jenkins... just waiver fodder. Smith is the unquestioned #1 RB on Detroit, White is the unquestioned #1 WR in Atlanta, I personally think Royal is waiver fodder, but others might disagree here. Like I said, you got a steal of a deal -- but it's not exactly a case 99.9% of folks in real fantasy leagues should expect. Most folks come here to look at case studies for trades. The best and safest conclusion that they can come up with in your case is that if they have a moron in their league, by all means, traderape him... often and annually.

Just made a trade....gimme honest opinions

There's good and bad in what you're writing here... Good: You got a steal of a deal. An overrated WR (Hester) and two waiver additions for two starters... Bad: Your league is a complete joke if trades like these are accepted.

    Pierre Thomas for Simms Walker

That's a very interesting question... if you look at it from a pure fantasy value perspective, you are unlikely to find a WR as good as MSW. 2nd/3rd round folks like Jennings, White, Boldin, and even the Carolina Steve Smith have _less_ value than MSW at this time, but owners would be more hesitant to trade them. ("they were my #3 pick after all") You might feel better about getting a bigger name for Thomas, but you probably will be left with far less quality. Given your exact situation, you're maximizing your expected return on a trade for Thomas. You could try for more, but you will likely find very little success.
