I have been in many leauges for about 10 years now. Most of the owners don't want the responsibility of being commish and would rather bow out of the league than be responsible for running one. That's something I've always seen. The right thing to do is to kick something back to the person who runs your league to show your appreciation. Owners who don't do this, don't realize that coordinating the league and putting up with the rest of the owners is extra work and headache. JMHO of course.

You should absolutely tip the commish something. I have been in a few leagues that would not have existed if not for one person stepping up to run things. Regardless, the commish of any league is doing more than any other person in the league and should therefore be compensated for the extra time and effort they spend. It's that simple. Anyone who doesn't tip, doesn't deserve to be in a league who is run by someone else.
