Could someone explain PVO to me?

Recommended Posts

The way I understand it is the amount of points the team your player is going against gives up to that particular position.

For instance if your WR is playing SF and the PVO is +10. That means that SF gives up on average 10 more points to WR's then the league average.

+ pvo is better then - pvo, but I'm not sure it means a whole lot until a month or so into the season, when defenses settle in.

PVO takes into account how the defemse plays against that position regardless of the player. If a running back is going up against a team with a top notch run defense then the PVO will be negative.

T. Jones vs Baltimore will be negative.

Week two has Den vs Oak. Travis Henry will have a positive PVO because the Raiders can't stop the run. All of Oaklands wr's will have a negative PVO because Denver has stellar cover corners now.
