Denver @ Kansas City: In-Game Discussion

Jay Cutler has a GREAT arm. I assume you took him early in your draft? These sorts of conversations are so pointless. Some of the all-time greats (Brady, Montana, Manning, Steve Young) didn't have strong arms at all. QB is a cerebral position FAR more than a physical position. Heck, John Elways' Super Bowls were won only after many of his physical skills had declined.

Peyton Manning's arm strength 'significantly' worse

I have no expectations for it, because there is no such thing.

You know Peyton has won a Super Bowl, and those other guys (Bledsoe, Kelly, Marino) haven't, right? If you're only going to label guys "clutch" if they've won multiple Super Bowls, that list is going to be REALLY short. Not to mention, it's still a team game........ and putting all Super Bowl results solely on the QB is a little disingenuous.

Remind me how many championships Brady won at Michigan. I know Griese (apparently a guy with the "clutch gene") won one while at Michigan.

No offense, but Jim Plunkett and Donovan McNabb are on your list. I'm not real impressed.

Then you'll need to explain to me how Matt Cassell went 10-5 in the same system.

Give me the list of quarterbacks with more playoff wins than Peyton Manning. It's a pretty short list. Besides, that's not really my point. My point is that until Tom Brady plays in a system other than Belichick's system, we'll never know if it's Brady or the system that's creating the success there. Again, Matt Cassel was successful there, and he's awful. Manning has had success under 4 different NFL coaches. He's proven that he can win, no matter where you put him. Brady has only had success under Belichick, so how do we know if Belichick or Brady is the mastermind there?

Oh, please. Tom Cassel went 11-5 in the Patriots system when Brady was injured. The Colts went 2-14 in the system when Manning was injured. Brady is a product of his system. Manning IS the system.

Flacco looked far worse than Manning. Is he toast, too? Last year, Manning was playing at an MVP level until the quad injury. The talk of his arm being toast is just hyperbole. He was among the top 3 in completions of passes that traveled 20 or more yards last year (and has been for the last 3 years). You don't just lose your ability to throw balls downfield overnight, after being elite at it for 3 years straight. You don't go from MVP candidate to "toast" in half a season. He's adjusting to a new offense this year, has the most inexperienced offensive line in the league, and plays against 2 of the best defenses in football (Baltimore and KC) to start the season. It's hard to judge him right now. It's definitely too soon to panic. As someone else pointed out, have we already forgotten how Tom Brady was "done" after 4 games last year?

    Fan Duel and Draft King

Legalities aside, how do we know that Fan Duel and Draft King are not scams? Are the other entries' teams visible prior to kickoff?

    Ronnie Hillman let's discuss...

Yeah, Maclin against the Broncos defense probably isn't ideal. You could do worse than Hillman as a flex.

Which team is better? half ppr 10 man

I don't think it's lopsided either way, but I'd go with Rodgers.

    start 2 of 4 RBs

Yeldon for sure. I'd probably go with Woodhead, just because I think he's going to get plenty of work until the rookie gets settled in.

    Romo or Brees

I drafted Romo a couple of weeks ago, but a Cowboys fan in my league wants to trade me Brees straight up for Romo. Seems almost like a pick'em to me. What do you guys think?

    Bradford juicy week 1

I might start Bradford over Romo, but there's no way I wouldn't start Tom Brady against that Pittsburgh defense. They're awful.
