Gates hasn't put up freakish numbers this year, but I would never even think of dropping him. He's had kind of a low three games, (especially last week's 4 pts) but he's solid and rivers is going to need a big athletic guy in the redzone. he'll pick up, maybe no more 100 yard games, but he'll be the best FFL tight end by the end of the season.

the seahawks are looking for one of their backups to step in on some 3rd downs, either maurice morris or this giant (6'2" 240 or something) named weaver. i wouldn't expect it to affect alexander that much.

DJac is the ######, i wouldn't worry about him. The vibe on sportsradio is that he's hurt but not injured, that if we were in the season he'd probably suit up and play but since its preseason the team isn't taking any chances. even without training camp i think he's a solid reciever. maybe an alright #1 but a great #2 ya know?

Thanks! we're in a standard (non ppr) scoring league, 1 QB, 1 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 RB/WR K, D/ST. Does this belong in the help forum? I thought that was for specific "my team" "my trade" type questions, while this question is way more open ended. i dunno. also, selfishly, there are way less people that look and respond to the help board... oh well. with 10 teams (depending on my pick) i think i might be able to swing 2 seriously legit RBs and hang onto them for awhile. thanks again for the help.

my roommates and our friends are starting a 10 team, 2 keeper league this season. how should my draft be different than in a redraft league? my basic thought is to draft about the same way i always do, but aiming for players with upside, especially young RBs (ie:ronnie brown, sjax, reggie?) in general how does draft strategy change in a keeper league? any thoughts would be much appreciated. -matt

I picked 7th and ended up with (1)Ronnie, (2)TO, (3)Chester Taylor, (4)Kevin Jones. pretty happy with it. I feel like 7 is a good spot to be this year, the 4-10 ranked RBs is a total crapshoot and it leaves you in a good position to grab a top WR on the way back.

how do you guys see the bronco's recievers doing this year, and who will put up better numbers? walker is an amazing talent but is coming off that injury. smith is old but consistantly solid. any thoughts?

TO is an absolute monster, and i expect a significant drop off from boldin as edgerrin james steps up in arizona. gore won't be good enough to be a consistant RB2, you gotta find somebody that will be able to step up and play week in and week out.

thanks for the imput. i'm sure that there were some missed opportunities here, and i didn't mean to be "sucking myself off" at all. this is the first time i've ever missed a live draft and had to go off of a board. even with the time i spent working on it, i was expecting the worst and i think it turned out ok. S Jax/C Williams (not edge) were both available at my 7th pick, but i prefer Brown to both of them. I think he's going to have a huge year. maybe i'm wrong. it crosses my mind to try and trade one of my denver WRs and one of my quarterbacks for peyton manning. if (when) that doesn't work, maybe even trade them for tom brady/matt hasslebeck. what do you think?

i agree with all of this! get er done! now here are the questions i'm having with my team... who's going to be my RB2 and FLEX out of chester taylor, kevin jones, and deshaun foster rod smith vs javon walker? (poor planning on my part, but smith was hanging around WAY TOO LONG) drew brees vs byron leftwich (i was looking for my backup QB in the 13th round and leftwich was still there!)

I think you did just fine. chester taylor in the 13th and leftwich in the 14th? AMAZING. I'm pretty sure I got him in the third and felt pretty good about it. i'd start your highest picks, basically. it doesn't look like you have any real position battles, besides addai vs taylor. you're in good shape. addai will be an especially good guy to have around next season. once he's their starter and they phase out RBBC he'll be money.
