    Anybody got a link?

    a.k.a. "the flea flicker." HTH.
  2. Thanks for all the replies. I did that right after I posted it so he could get an "unbiased" view of people's reactions (odds are if I sent him the link AFTER there were a bunch of comments posted he'd probably accuse me of rigging it somehow. Yes that makes no sense. Yes that is irrelevant when dealing with this person). Also, to answer questions: - The playoff sked had been set well before the season started, and well before the draft. - 12-team league. - This is his third year of FF Though it is his third year, he always with the same group of people, so his only other exposure to FF rules and policy (other than my league which uses standard rules) is through that other league, which has rules so bass-ackward its unbelievable. But since its the only other place he plays and since he's been playing in that league longer than he's been playing in mine, he thinks those rules are the norm (based solely upon the fact that he's been exposed to them for longer). Highlights of what he considers "good" rules (e.g. the rules in the other league he plays in) include: - Week 17 championship game - Negative points for missed field goals - 22 yds/point returning for an INDIVIDUAL player (like a WR) but 30 yds/point returning for team DEF/ST - "good game" bonus points occur at 6x the yardage base for QB but at 10x yardage base for RBs and WRs (specifically 50yds/point bonus at 300 for QB, 15 yds/point bonus at 150 for RB, and 12 yds/point bonus at 120 for WR) - Fumble Forced: 2 points. Fumble Recovery: 1 point. - Wait! It gets better! Fumble Recovery: 1 point. Interception: 2 points. - Points per catch: .5; but why stop there?! Points per completion: .5! This is what I have to contend with. Finally I had to just give up on trying to explain why my league's rules are different than his other's (short anser: your league's rules are INSANE. If I intentionally TRIED to make the most arbitrarily nonsensical set of rules I could, they would still be more fair than your league's) and so I came here to let you guys help me out. Thanks again for all the responses. With any luck, he'll begin to realize that his bizarro-league's rules are, perhaps, a sub-optimal scoring solution.
  3. Here is his rationale: He seems to believe that having week 17 playoffs is the norm. What do you guys think?
  4. Damn east coast bias. Imagine that instead of being built on top of solid rock, the United States instead was perfectly flat and rested on a pivot point, so that it could tip towards whichever side was heaviest. Like trying to balance a plate on a stick. Got it? OK: Now imagine that the only things on that US-sized plate are the people. Imagine we take out all the buildings, all the mountains, everything but the people. Now, where do you think you would you have to put that central pivot point - the "stick" that holds up the US "plate" - so that it will perfectly balance and be level. In other words, where is the populaiton center of the US? Where would you have to put it so that the weight and numbers of all the people cancel eachother out? Get it? Got a guess? The answer: Central Pennsylvania. Granted, it is moving both south and west, but its not nearly as far West as many assume. Why show East Coast-biased games? Because there are SIGNIFICANTLY more people living there! Over half of all US residents live east of Pennsylvania's western border.

What Gives with the Truck Commercials?!

Ford sold over 900,000 F-150s last year, more than all its other models COMBINED. On top of that, trucks are more profittable than smaller vehicles.

  8. I'd just like to say for the record that I wasn't Favre/Grossman after the draft; I would almost deserve this if I was. I was Green/Favre. (Favre was still on the board so late in the draft I almost had to take him.) After I saw the hit Green took on highlights I knew it was probably a season-ending, maybe even career-ending hit. Rather than be stuck with Favre for the 4 weeks (and counting) that Green has still been out, I dropped him immediately, figuring of Grossman, A. Smith, M. Lienart, V. Young, and all the other QB prospects still on the board at that point, someone would break out. I went with Grossman, and it worked out. Until now. Time will tell, I guess. Thanks for all the kind words though, guys. Takes some of the sting off. Not alot, but some.
  9. Other QB was Favre on bye. It could be a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG year, guys!
  10. This weekend will definitely go down in the annals, I think. Where were you week 6 '06? I was comfortably up 11 points on my opponent going in to MNF, ready to sit back and watch Rex get me to the young year's highest score. Then came one INT, than another. Then a fumble and an INT. Pretty soon what I was up a mere fraction on my opponent. All Rex had to do to secure both him and me the victory was take the ball and sit down. Instead he takes the ball, runs backwards for just enough negative rushing yards to lose me the game, and then sits down. I'm far from the only one with stories like this. Where were you week 6 '06? True, but irrelevant. Still WORST LOSS EVER.
  11. So there I was, unbelieveably, amazingly, astonishingly UP on my oponent by .5 points late in the 4th despite perhaps one of the worst QB performances I have ever seen from one of my starters. Chicago returns a kick, Arizona needs a field goal for the win. A hit means a couple more absurd Grossman long balls and with the way he'd been playing (4 INTs, 2 Fumbles lost) almost certainly another interception. A miss is the ball game. Rackers, Mr. Automatic, 166 point scorer last year, misses! OMFG RACKERS FTW!!! But then, wait, there's still 40 seconds on the clock and Arizona has timeouts remaining. Grossman takes the snap, takes a step back and kneels. He's down, for -2 rushing yards. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Arizona calls time out. I'm up by three tenths of a point. Ok, that was their last time out, only two more snaps, -1 yard apiece, I should be able to barely eak this thing out. I am somehow, against all odds, going to survive Rex Grossman tonight. 2nd down, Grossman takes the snap, takes a step back. Takes a step back. Takes ANOTHER step back. TAKES ANOTHER STEP BACK. Its going in slow motion. I can't believe what I'm seeing. ITS ALMOST LIKE HE'S DOING IT ON PURPOSE. HE WANTS TO SET SOME KIND OF COSTANZA RECORD!! HOLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEE CLOWN ASS YOU MONKEY LOVER WTF ARE YOU DOING??!! 4 INTs, 2 Fumbles wasn't enough? You want -50 rushing yards, too? Go, then! RUN! YOU CAN STILL SCORE A SAFETY ON YOURSELF!! THERE'S TIME!! GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! nfl.com has the call: 2-12-CHI29 (:43) R.Grossman kneels to CHI 25 for -4 yards. OH MY ###### GOD WHAT KIND OF BULLSHIT IS THAT?!?!?!?! Grossman ends up with -6 rushing yards on those attempts, pushing me .1 points behind my opponent. The final kneel - for another -1 yard - was just the icer at that point, but at least by the third try he figured out how to do it right. All he had to do was snap the ball and kneel. That's it. That would have only been -1 rushing yard x 3 attempts, and up by .5 I would have won by .2 or .1. Instead he drops back 4 F'ING YARDS, and I lose by .2. EASILY the biggest hearbreaker of my FF career. Amazing.

    Wes Welker

I drafted him, as well. In leagues that score for return yards he has been an absolute STUD, going 80+ recieving 100+ returning for me almost every week. Wesley FTW!
