Official Week 16 F.U. Thread: Donkey Punch edition........
gemynd replied to Filthy Fernadez's topic in FFToday Board
FU Tucker and KC defense. #1 kicker and team defense in my league (both of whom came up huge in the playoff game last week) combined for a whopping 2 points. On a day when my whole team did well (D. Thomas, P. Garcon, and D. Murray in particular), I lose the championship by a hand full of points. -
To Stokes84: The only options in my opinion are Alshon and Stacy. Either would be a fine choice given their value for your keepers. If I had to choose one, I would pick Alshon. To The Bag-O-Bones: You should start the keeper system after the next draft. People may have drafted slightly different if they knew they could keep players after this year.

How long has it been since Romo hasn't choked in December?
gemynd replied to Mike Honcho's topic in The Geek Club
I'm biased because I have Murray, but how do you have that kind of rushing success and then ignore it in the 2nd half. This is a theme now. Every announcer and analyst says the same thing week in and week out. Are the Dallas coaches not paying attention to that which seemingly everybody else sees as totally obvious? -
I don't blame the refs for making calls at game speed when it is close. This hit was close enough that I can see how they thought it was illegal. That being said, I would get mad if the NFL fines Brooks for that hit. They get the benefit of seeing it in slow motion and should be able to tell that it was not illegal (in my opinion).

56% of the United States below normal temperature in 2013...
gemynd replied to posty's topic in The Geek Club
NOAA Report for September 2013 (most recent account released) The United States is only a part of the whole picture. Note that in any given month or year, global temperatures can decline, but when taken as part of the whole, the general trend continues to be upward. -
Not using a higher draft pick on a TE and then grabbing Jordan Reed (who went undrafted) after week 1.

Only way I start him going forward is if half of my team has a heart attack.

The point of the video was not to say that there wasn't a 60% increase this year, but to point out that the 60% increase is misleading when taken as part of the whole. It goes to show that the record low achieved in 2012 may have been followed up by an increase, but the trend is still distinctly downward. That also goes against the claim that a "global cooling" was happening (also noted in the OP). The video also points out that the ice thickness is also decreasing. The short term increases pale in comparison to the long term decreases.

Interesting video rebutting the original source of the above article.

Climate Scientists can't explain warming slow down.
gemynd replied to Recliner Pilot's topic in The Geek Club
The original article makes the claim that warming is slowing down. The data shown in the link above shows the opposite. I was just offering contrary evidence to spark the debate, that's all. The graphs are more than just sea level, it also shows the oceanic heat content. -

No. This was a rebuttal to the article presented by the original poster.
