I thought that was the point of Thursday night games - get people to watch a matchup that would otherwise have fewer viewers on Sunday.

Kenneth Dixon, will he take over the Ravens RB job?

Eventually, yes. It's more a question of "how soon?" If you took him in redraft, you likely have deep enough benches to stash him long term, and I think it will pay off later this year. If he's on the waiver wire, it's probably safe to leave him there another week because people are scrambling for WRs at the moment. -
I understand the desire for this theory to be true, but it just doesn't work that way - especially if we're talking about lineup decisions made before the majority of games start on Sunday morning. Both a QB or WR can have independantly good games, so just ignore your opponent's lineup. In this very rare scenario though, I might consider this: - if you can decide between two similar QBs in late Sunday or Monday games, after knowing where your matchup stands in the earlier games - and your opponent is starting the stud WR for one of those QBs Then, if I have the lead in the matchup I might lean towards starting the QB throwing to my opponents WR, just to potentially guard against a major points swing. I guess this could be considered trying to "cancel out" the WR, but I would call it "playing it safe" instead. But it would only be a consideration if my QB choice was close, i.e. I'm projecting them to score about the same. I'm still not going to sit Luck or Brees on a Monday night to start Shaun Hill instead. So that's it, only one rare case in which I could buy that theory. But definitely not if you're talking about lineup choices at the beginning of the week - too many variables involved, just ignore your opponent and start the players who you think will score the most.

Rolling with Mariota, even though it's not a great matchup. I think Carolina will score major points, therefore the Titans could be throwing for garbage time stats. Only drawback is that the Panthers are tied for the lead in INTs with 13.

Since when? Since forever. Talent is the first step. The second step is knowing the play calls well enough to play more downs. And being able to pick up blocks too, call that step 2 and a half. Putting all of that together can take some time. Man, people are so impatient these days.

Maybe the question should be, "If you drafted Mariota, who did you take as your QB2 to back him up"?
-
I drafted Mariota as my backup and I think he could surprise this year if you add in some running stats. This wasn't my plan going into the draft though, I just waited a bit too late and my target QB2 (Carson Palmer) went right before my pick.

You took my post seriously?

Great advice. Curses and hexes are an extremely important (and often overlooked) aspect of Fantasy Football. There are the obvious ones, like you mentioned, but more commonly they remain hidden until it becomes evident during the season (read: Montee Ball 2014, though his pre-season appendicitis should have been a tell-tale sign for those in the know). To sniff out these "hidden" curses, I highly recommend buying a Ouija board. I even bring mine to the draft and let it make picks for me. Sure, the other owners in my league make fun of me, but I think my performance in this league speaks for itself: I've come in 2nd place every year for the past 9 seasons. And this year I'm stacked and headed for 1st, no doubt.

Who was your last pick non kicker or defense?
nordwave replied to Super Cubs's topic in FFToday Board
DeVante Parker, was surprised to see people had forgotten him. Green-Beckham, Perriman, and Dorsett all taken a few rounds earlier. -
RBs get thin quickly, so for me, Gronk at the end of the first must be paired with an RB in the second. Here are my starters from a recent draft at 1.12, taking Murray at 2.1 QB - Bradford RB - D. Murray, R. Jennings WR - A. Johnson, J. Maclin, A. Robinson TE - Gronk
-
The bright side of having a roster full of crappy RBs - you'll have no problem letting them go when the waiver wire breakout guys start showing up (and they do every year). Just think of all the owners last year holding on to their Montee Balls deep into the season and leaving CJ Anderson on the wire. (Always a tough decision to drop a first-round pick) I've seen teams make it to the championship game with half of their starters being waiver wire guys.

Keep Calm, and as the season Carries On you may find that whoever sniped Beckham Jr in front of you was doing you a favor. And I think Peyton will be fine.
