IDP Dynasty League Trade Help....

Recommended Posts

I am in an IDP Dynasty League and I have been offered this deal:

I get Mike Bell and Tatum Bell

He gets Tiki Barber and Ronde Barber

I need to add RB depth going into the future, my other RBs are Rudi, Westbrook, Dillon(no long term value), and Leon Washington. This trade would do that.

Giving up Ronde Barber would hurt my Defense, but CB is my deepest position on my roster going forward with Champ Bailey, Rashean Mathis, and Antrel Rolle.

I think this deal makes sense for me because I would (A) be getting value for Tiki for the future with him retiring and adding young RB depth to my roster for the future. I don't like giving up Ronde because he is the top CB and Defensive player overall in our league right now, but I think that with my depth at CB I could overcome that.

What do you guys think???

Well, you didn't seem to place any importance on what happens this year. Seeing as such, Tiki and Ronde are both in the twighlight of their careers (props to Roger Clemens). So, it seems to me if you are not worried about this year grabbing those Bells is a good idea. I've never played IDP so I'm actually surprised to hear Ronde is tops at the position. Obviously, both Bell's aren't going to make it in the end, so this is effectively a 2-for-1.

The more I think about it, unless you are giving up on this year I don't think either Bell is going to be a #1 back...just another annoyingly and minimally productive Denver Back. If you are already toast this year, you may as well do it. In my opinion neither Barber will be effective after this year.

Hope that helped at all...

I'm not toast this year yet, but I don't like my chances of winning it all. Right now I'm 4-5. So for me, I think I should get what I can for Tiki now, at the trade deadline, instead of holding onto him and trying to win it all, which most likely won't happen. I mean I want to be optimistic about my team, but at the same time I have to be realistic, and try to build my team for the future.

I Wouldn't do it, Tiki has hinted at retiring for years now, he will play next year and the Bell's in Denver is something I honestly would want to stay away from. Who knows Shanny could draft a RB in the 6th round next year and bang a new starter in Denver. Keep what ya got.

Thanks for answering mine.

Good Luck

Peace...
