Bye week headaches

Recommended Posts

My WR setup is as follows

TO(10)

Calvin Johnson(4)

Burleson(4)

Gaffney(4)

Royal(8)(I have Cutler, also)

We can start 2WR and a WR/TE flex(with a standard TE, also)

We only have 14 player rosters so space is at a premium, 12 team league.

Basically I am screwed for week 4, and will need to drop someone. But hoping to trade someone. Question is, who do I try to trade away, for a similar option with a different bye week. I was trying to get the owner with Hasselbeck to trade me for Burleson. He's leaning towards offering Reggie Williams. I liked Reggie last year, but I am worried about his health. Your thoughts? or should I hold out until the season and possibly get more? or trade Gaffney?

post yours

Don't trade away Burleson. He is the only WR left in SEA, he will see a ton of balls flying in his direction.

Especially don't trade him away for Williams.

I would try to trade away Calvin together with someone else for a better WR.

Or you can drop Gaffney and pick up someone else from the WW, like Kevin Walter, Ronald Curry or Drew Bennet, those guys are in the same tier.

Thanks

I've got Calvin rated as a breakout this year. His size and speed, as long as he is healthy, is going to be huge. I have no intentions of trading Johnson.

Walter is gone

Curry, maybe

Bennett, groin, won't be the same. I think someone else might step in at WR2 in StL.

Thanks again

I might be in the minority here, but I don't like thinking about bye weeks too much. You have several weeks to go, and you probably won't get a fair deal at this point.

After a few weeks, a need will develop on somebody's team, or a WW pickup will show up. Rosters fluctuate. Yes week 4 is fairly soon, but I would wait until after week 2 to make a move.

Thanks for mine.
