Am I Crazy To Bench Rivers?

Recommended Posts

Philip Rivers has been a stud for me this season, but with the brutal matchup at Pittsburgh, combined with the pleasantly suprising option of Tyler Thigpen, with a creampuff matchup at home vs. the Saints, I'm seriously thinking of benching him.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Gotta go with Rivers. The only way to beat Pittsburgh, especially on the road, is to throw over the top at them the way that Manning just did. I expect 2 tds and around 240-280 yards from him. LJ is back for KC and they may to try to run a lot more to keep the ball out of NO hands. Thanks for answering mine.

Id stick with Rivers. He has been a top fantasy quaterback in most leagues. As it was stated earlier Manning torched that pass defense River should have just as productive of a day.

I am benching him this week in favor of hopefully healed ROMO. I actually will be at the Steelers Chargers game this weekend and hope I made the right decision. I do agree with above however that the Chargers will ahve to throw to win but I see the weather forcecast for the game being difficult for those Chargers to air it out with temps in the low 30's forecasted 75% chance of snow showers and wind. I would go Thigpen and be glad you found him. IMO

i would actually go against the grain here and start thigpen in what should be a very high scoring game. its hard to bench a guy like rivers but there are very few teams like pittsburgh on defense as well. i think you shuld play thigpen and not look back.

Thanks for mine

If it were at home I'd say Rivers, but Pittsburgh has the #1 or #2 passing D, and it's at Pittsburgh. Peyton just passed for 228 yards on them, he's the only one to go over 200 yards. They've only given up 9 TDs, and 3 of those also came from Manning. Rivers is good, but he's still not Manning. I'd go with Thigpen and the matchup.

Thanks for help on mine!

I picked up Thigpen and won last week thanks to him. DO IT.
