triple_f 0 Posted December 23, 2008 I'm in a 12 team, one player keeper league, PPR, all TD's are 6pts, 1 pt/20 yds rushing/rec'ing, 1 pt/50 yds passing. On my roster I have: Steven Jackson - has been my keeper for the past 2 years, but has disappointed both years, but I feel he has the most upside. Drew Brees - was second in my league in total fantasy points (Rivers - 236 Brees - 233) Andre Johnson - was second in my league in total fantasy points for receivers (Fitz - 211 AJ - 207) I finished first in the regualr season, and lost the finals by a few points yesterday. (Fock U AJ) I am having a hard time choosing, I have my thoughts, but I will let you guys tell me your's first. I will respond to your's.
DanXIII 8 Posted December 23, 2008 Geez, tough one indeed. IMHO, I think the QB position is the easiest one to fill via the draft or waivers, depending on your league's scoring system. I just took a look at my league's free agent list, and 6 of the top 7 fantasy point scorers available are QB's. I don't think Jackson is a keeper any longer. One bad year is a fluke; two is a trend, and honestly the Rams need help in multiple areas. If the Rams manage to land OT Andre Smith from Alabama in next year's draft, you might see some improvement out of Jackson (assuming he can stay healthy, which is a BIG assumption given his recent history). Inconsistent QB play and an aging WR corps also indirectly affect Jackson, as teams can stack the line, stop Jackson, and essentially shut down the Rams offense, which has been happening all season. If I was in your spot, I'd keep AJ. He has tons of upside. The Texans have a running game now and will only improve next season if Schaub can play a full year. AJ is a big, physical target who makes plays other guys simply cannot make...and he will remain the #1 receiving option on that team for years to come. If I had to rank them, I'd go 1. AJ, 2. Brees, 3. Jackson. HTH Here's mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...howtopic=337462
Lesman 1 Posted December 24, 2008 If you only get to keep one player, then you better make sure it's a good one. Jackson probably isn't worth it, but I wouldn't reserve judgment until we see what happens in STL over the offseason. If they make improvements @ O-Line, QB, and get a coach who likes to run, then SJax may be worth your top spot again. WR's are too inconsistent from year to year for me to make AJ my sole keeper, plus this is basically the first time he hasn't been hurt half the year. If I had to pick right now it would be Brees, as he is almost guaranteed to be top 5 QB or better again next year.
