RaidersFan18 0 Posted October 24, 2009 I'm a little afraid to have a QB-WR Combo on my team, but Zona's schedule down the stretch is awesome. He's also playing inside, instead of in the New England cold. Am I crazy to consider trading Brady? Currently, I'm undefeated and very likely to make the playoffs in my 10 team standard scoring (non-PPR) league. I don't think I'd every start S Rice or MoMass (too inconsistent), so I wouldn't be losing a ton there. Our playoffs are weeks 15 an 16, where Zona is playing Detroit and Saint Louis. My team: Brady, Orton Gore, R. Rice, MJD, Fargas R. White, Mike Sims Walker, H Ward, D Bowe, S. Rice, MoMass, D. Avery Celek Prater Minnesota D Should I try to pull this off? Given the fact that I'm probably going to make the playoffs, it almost seems like Warner and Brady are fairly comparable -- Brady is playing against Buffalo (in Buffalo) and Jacksonville (at New England). It's unlikely that Brady will be sitting out in week 16, but at least a possibility. There's less of a possibility Warner will be sitting because Zona's made the playoffs, but he's old and has lingering health concerns. Thoughts? Leave a link. mreid 0 Posted October 24, 2009 Looking at your team I'd say stay put. I generally don't like to give up the best player in a trade unless I am filling a need. Brady has more upside and less injury concern than Warner. I'd be a little uncomfortable with a Warner and Orton as my Qb's. While Fitz is an upgrade at wr I don't think it's such a big upgrade to make it worth it. You have three solid receivers in R White, Sims-Walker, and Bowe. Adding Fitzgerald only makes it less likely you'll get value from those guys. I expect Bowe to see increased yardage totals going forward and continue to find the endzone. Gator85 0 Posted October 25, 2009 I'd stay put. You'd be putting your entire season of old man Warner....I had the same combo last season and I got burnt during the playoffs in that disaster against new england where warner threw for like 30 yards.
madd futher mucker 36 Posted October 25, 2009 I LOVE that trade. Fitz is a monster late in the season, and AZ has a cup-cake schedule. It is not like you have Warner naked either, with Orton as a back-up. And you've got another 5 weeks to find another QB2 if you can find a better possibility than Orton. this kind of chance-taking could win you the champoinship, rather than a 2nd or 3rd in your league. I'd do it in a heartbeat. FWIW, I'd rather hand-cuff Warner with Leinart (with the AZ schedule and their WR weapons, IMO they wouldn't miss a beat with Leinart) than have Orton, but you COULD carry 3 QBs at this stage. IndyFan 2 Posted October 25, 2009 I'd make this trade - no question. Warner led me to 2 championships last year (accumulated points) and Fitz is the best player in this trade. Brady = Warner Fitz > Rice + MoMass
Schaefer 0 Posted October 25, 2009 Your team is stacked and should not even think. Brady didn't do much the first part of the season but should be great for the rest. If there is a way to pull of a trade for Warner and not give up Brady is your best bet. Maybe Orton & RiceorGore for Warner. Warner is getting older more injury prone, and they do still have a lot of WR weapons in Zona.
