Hold on to him and wait for a sign of good news. The Pats will trying to make it seem like Gronk is good during training camp. Once things look good, sell high (relatively speaking) realizing that in all likelyhood this guy is gonna have trouble this year.
-
Man I feel bad for this guy. I also wouldn't touch him with a 10ft pole this year. WAAAY to many surgeries.
-
I like Givens a lot. I think he has a much bigger role this season. Austin will be nice, but let's not forget he is a rookie WR. It takes WR's a few years to get going (unless you're AJ Green).
-
I think Carrie Underwood is gonna look better. Faith Hill is kinda old.
-
Calvin Johnson is the undisputed best receiver in football. Trent Richardson is a good RB. But he could just as easily be outside of the top 10 this as, as being in it.
-
Did you already do the draft?
-
I really like the new look!
-
What an idiot.

I like Green. I think he is an absolute beast. Going to be a top 5 WR for the next 5-7 years I think.

Gronk!! His ultra-macho attitude is an elaborate cover!

It is now a penalty for a running back to strike defenders with the crown of their helmet

Make the padding smaller. That's the only solution. When people have weapons on their shoulder pads, they are going to use them as such. These changes to protect the head, although I understand... aren't helping the game as a whole. The game just had a big shift in favor of fast running backs over power backs. -
Official Bill Belichick hasn't signed a decent free agent in his tenure

Uh.... Randy Moss? -
Amendola going to Pats raised his trade value tremendously. He has a LOT of talent, but he's also a huge risk. I traded him in dynasty while his value was at it's peak. Pre-season hype. Always a good time to trade players that recently switched teams!

Over Green Bay, sure. Arizona and Seattle are tough though. And Arizona has just as good of a return game with Peterson. Do I think they are better than expected? Yes. But Arizona, in my opinion is the real deal. They are a top 5 defense and have the knack for making turnovers it would seem.

4 Games in 18 days makes it tough on a defense. Just sayin'

I do as well. Luckily on the bench I've got Mikel Leshoure and Andre Brown! Hopefully they can fill in for a few weeks.

He's that good.

Week 1 everyone overreacts. We don't truly know who is good and bad this year, because this is just one small sample. Defenses that were great last year may be garbage this year, so that RB that shredded them, suddenly isn't so valuable. Every year I look for ways to take advantage of those overreactions. Here are a few of my early observations (some may be dead wrong) Matthew Stafford - 3 INT's and a relatively horrible day. His stat line was salvaged at the end, but hopefully the Stafford owner will concentrate on those 3 INT's. He's a huge buy low candidate right now. Matt Ryan - Hyped ALL offseason, followed up by a great week 1 performance.... against a defense missing 4 starters. Do I think Matty Ice will have a good season. Yes, absolutely. Is he a top 5 QB (in terms of production) I highly doubt it. I'd be looking to sell Ryan right now, as his value will never be any higher. In fact, if I could package him for Stafford and get an upgrade somewhere else as well - that's just a winner/winner. Alfred Morris - On one hand, you want to believe in a Shanny RB. On the other, he's a Shanny RB. The jury is still out on this guy, but you might consider selling him now, if you can find the right buyer. RG3 - Dude looked great. But is the Saints D actually any good this year? With all the missing coaches, I really think we are going to see an awful Saints D and a lot of QB's will shread them. RG3 might end up being awesome, but I think we need to temper our expectations for another week or two. Doug Martin - I wouldn't call this an over or under reaction, but merely a reaction. His stat line was good, not amazing. But the dude looks like the next top running back, IMO. He played a great GAME, from a coaches perspective. I think he gets the lions share of the carries all season long. He has top 5 RB written all over him. Get him before his value goes up even more. Who are you buying/selling right now?

Week 1 overreactions (and how to capitalize on them)
Cuda1337 replied to Cuda1337's topic in FFToday Board
Exactly. Thank you. I think a lot of people missed on what I was saying. I'm not saying you can get a stud for a bum based on week 1. I'm saying you can find upgrades. Go from a top 10 QB top a top 5. Sell a receiver who will likely end up top 30, for the price of a top 15 guy. Things like that. As an example - let me make this more clear. I would NEVER have been able to get Stafford in the 4th or 5th round. He was a 2nd round guy in a lot of leagues. But now that Ryan had one big game and Stafford had one subpar game, I could probably trade Ryan for Stafford. Our entire offseason and all of last years thoughts about two players is wiped clean by ONE GAME. That's my point. People care about what JUST happened, not all the logic and thought that went into establishing the thoughts prior to week 1. A ton of you in this thread are prime examples of how well this will work. Everyone in here claiming they would never sell Ryan. Well guess what, you're the same owner I'm trying to sell Ryan to, because you think he is the next coming of Jesus. The fact that he was hyped all offseason prior to week 1 just reinforces your ideas even more. -
Yep. I think people are grossly underestimating how dangerous the Dallas defense can be this year. TONS of blitzes and pressure, combined with some damn good corner player. I like Wilson, but i don't think next week is going to be good for him. Sadly, I have to use him in my two qb league next week

Week 1 overreactions (and how to capitalize on them)

I dunno about this one. -
I've been playing in a fairly competitive league for what is 5 years now. It is a league consisting of mostly family, so there are a lot of rivalries. I've actually been quoted by someone else on this board for a couple of years when talking about this league. All 5 years, including this year I have been the highest scoring team in the league going into the playoffs. 3 of the 5 years I've been the #1 seed. I have gotten 2nd place 2 times and 3rd place 2 times. I have NEVER won the league. I'm in the semi-finals again. With the highest scoring team again. #1 seed again. If I don't win the championship this year I'm going to go cry. Whose with me?!?

Nope, I didn't start Helu. I made all the right calls. I started Bradshaw and Kahlil Bell. Also started Pettigrew at TE instead of Daniels. Chiefs defense and Graham Gano at kicker. Chiefs got me 10 and Gano 16 points. I did absolutely EVERYTHING right.... except motherfucking tony romo. Thing is, I've still got a shot. Up by 24, he has Brees/Sproles/Jordy Nelson and T. Gonzalez to go and I have Roddy White and Kahlil Bell. If I had any points from a ###### QB I'd be in pretty decent shape. As it stands, its going to be very difficult to hold on. Another season falling just a wee bit short
