Interesting Situation happening in my fantasy league Just wondering if any other leagues fine an owner if he starts a player on a bye week. We initially made this rule to prevent anyone from just giving up towards the end of the season, not paying attention to their team, thus giving someone else an easy win. My league is now trying to apply it towards me, who mistakenly starting Akers week 4 when he had a bye. It was the first week of bye's, and are ###### website (fanball) changed the matchup screen from last year to where it didn't say who the team was playing unless you were were going to adjust your lineup and make changes. My dumbass checked my lineup, but since I wasn't making any changes, didn't see that Akers had a bye. I admit it was stupid on my part but I think the natural consequence of losing out on Akers points is enough. It should be noted that I still won that week so this mistake had no effect on anyone. The other league members are saying that since I started someone on a bye, I owe $200 now. I'm curious what you guys and gals think? Is this bogus or am I just not taking accountability. The rule was new this year and was created in our initial meeting to eliminate people giving up. The rule is not posted anywhere and applying it towards a situation like mine was never talked about. Of course it only comes up now that I'm hopfully going to win the 1000 championship. I think I would be willing to go to small claims court over the issue, has anyone ever done this? What do you think, is this fair on their part? I know I'm biased since obviously I don't want to lose $200. Would really appreciate anyone's opinion Sketch

We did $200 specifically because we wanted to eliminate this problem. I agree, that $25 fine for starting a player on a bye is more rational, and I think if we were to vote to have a fine for that, the penalty would be in that type of range. When I voted at the beginning of the year, it was to penalize people for giving up, not for making a mistake. Their trying to apply the rule we agreed on to an entirely different situation.

Yea, and Denver was in the top 3 best teams against the TE last week before Dallas hung 3TD's on there ass. It's not like jacksonville is unstoppable. Vernon Davis put up 6-69 and 1TD a few weeks ago. Owen Daniels put up 5-38 and 1TD this year as well. They've faced the most pathetic bunch of TE's all year, no ###### they're going to be top 3. Lets list them, Becht, Scaife, Carlson, McMichael, Pope, Keller, Nelson, Dreessen, Haynos. So they held Dallas to 4-37 week 1. Last year, Dallas went 4-47 in the first game, then at the end of the year put up 8-105, 1TD against Jacksonville. In 2007 he went 4-66, 1TD and 7-60, 2TD's. Starting to see a trend..... Analyze it all you want, at least for my league (PPR), Dallas Clark is the #1 tight end and there's not a snowballs chance in hell that I'm going to sit that man in the semi-final game when I need him most.

I hope your right, I'm a bit concerned and uneasy since he is WR3 on Saints, although I think him and Brees are heating up in regards to chemistry. I got Cotchery and Houshmenzadah that I could start instead of Meachem. I think I'm going to pull the trigger and go with him.

It may be wishful thinking, but I wonder if Perry Fewell can see things as clear as everybody else. The only thing the Bills had going for them was Fred Jackson, and so what do they do.... decrease his playing time. Perry is a defensive coordinator, but does he like Fred? Does Fred become more relevant now?
