Draft both and sleep easier at night. Same with Devante and Tevin.

Better value going with Cobb later rounds than go Nelson where he is at right now.

Lamar Miller: Ranked #2 RB on FFToday cheatsheet?
smash-a-mus replied to joneo's topic in FFToday Board
I think its crazy to rank him at #2 especially with no track record and on a new team. Yes the dolphins never used him correctly, I get that... but if he was worth any gold, why did they let him walk? Any GM worth a damn can run the same numbers and project what he would do with a full set of carries. Maybe dolphin's GM is an idiot who knows. If we're focusing on rankings... I know its a mixed bag at the top of the RB rankings this year. Leveon, charles coming off injuries, ADP turning 30, Gurley could be in for sophomore slump but I would probably take at least two of those over Lamar. -
Who are your "Players to Take" from your "Teams not to Draft from"?
smash-a-mus replied to LunaTick's topic in FFToday Board
Teams not to draft from: I quick glance at the playoff schedule 14,15,16. Two teams jump at me. TEN: DEN, @KC, @JAX MIA: ARI, @NYJ, @BUF -------------EDIT----------------------- sh*t i should start reading the thead titles more carefully. I'll leave this up, just cuz it is still relevant to your miami players discussion. -
Fantasy Players Who Won't Repeat Last Years Performance
smash-a-mus replied to Djgb13's topic in FFToday Board
So I'm cheating a little bit cuz these players didn't play last year but I dont see... Kelvim Benjamin repeating his rookie year. The guy has stones for hands. I bet you he comes in out of shape too like last year before he got injured. I can't believe how high he's projected this year. Jordy Nelson too given his age @31. Can he still take the top off the defense like in 2014? -
Coming off major injury + people's distaste for Belichek... its possible. Cheap for me would be under $10... closer to $5 would be amazing.
-
I had my money on the wrong guy (blount) last year and missed out Dion. I'm not making that mistake this year. If I can get him for cheap. I'm all over it.
-
Seriously, if smart phones and social media existed back in the day, we'd all be in trouble.
-
You're probably right with your analysis. I just like to load up with talent on teams with potent offenses. Steelers are gonna rack up points on a weekly basis and I'll take a flyer on a TE playing on a good team with lots of mouths to feed vs a TE playing on a sh*tty team that never scores. Also, its not completely out of question that Green can move up the totem pole. Wheaton and coates isn't exactly established commodities in fantasy.

I'm not saying this will work but I like to play contrarian theories - opposite of what the other owners might be doing. I'm speculating that the other owners will see the same question marks and avoid RBs. So my idea is to grab those guys especially up top with two conditions: 1. Good value pick (cheaper than your projection) 2. You can live with him on your team and not have draft-remorse all day So it's not just your first round but your first 4 - 5 rounds. Grab value picks at RBs. I have a feeling there will be many. And yes, these guys might carry question marks but they might be the guys who ends up carrying you to the championship that everyone else overlooked. Do opposite of people overpaying for WRs and gronk and Cam. The only concern I have is that I'll be lopsided at RB so I will need to have a phenomenal draft at all other positions. Not a lot of room for error when I have high draft picks potentially sitting on my bench.
-
Is the gronk' gap at the top as big as previous years? Given that Brady is suspended 4 games? I think Gronk might drop in a lot of drafts. If I can't scoop him for value, I think I'd be looking at upside guys for cheap. I'm not paying for Reed, olsen, or baby-gronk. I think upside guys have all been mentioned in previous posts. My personal favs are Green, Bennett and take a flyer on Walford (as R8RMick hints).

I play in two leagues with .25 PPR. Draft hybrid RBs and tiny receivers. They usually rack receptions and TDs are a bonus. I'll take a 5-50 as a floor any day. Those quarter points rack up over the course of a season. Some sites have .5 PPR rankings. The ranking is similar to what you should be following.

I just looked at the teams that won in my leagues and it looks like the common thread was DeAngelo Williams. It wasn't heavy WRs or RBs that won them the championship. They won because they got lucky with Leveon going down. I still think that the draft will favor WRs this year over the RBs. I hope that I can scoop up some good value this year at RB especially up top. I'm hoping people are thinking similar to Hawkeye and going 3WR and 1RB. I think I might flip that and go 3RB and 1WR up top.
-
Awesome rule. I think I might adopt this for one of my leagues.
-
Winner! Haha

Another angle to consider is with the injuries and just pure busts at the RB position last year... I would think that your depth at RB is imperative now. The likelihood of your top rb going down is at an all time high. You'll need depth to salvage your season when leveon goes down week 8. Or torture your friends with lopsided offers when their top RB goes down. Is this crazy? Is it possible to win it all without a top flight WR? How low can I go without picking a WR?
-
I think its pretty clear last year was especially bad for all top rbs drafted. Just off the top of my head... leveon (suspended & OFS), charles (OFS), lacy (fat), Marshawn (ineffected, hurt). J. Hill (bust), D Murray (bust). With recency bias do you think that people over-adjust and really avoid any rbs this year? If so, maybe this is the year to go for RB-heavy up top and get great value. Flip your bench RBs for starters in a trade with a desperate owner who read too many WR-WR articles.

Up by 7 with Calvin left to play. Opponent beats me with Ben F&cking Watson on the last drive of the game. -
Started Lockett anyways. Got lucky there

I am hoping he misses next week so I can start Ajayi with confidence

Seattle game is still on track to be a rain storm. 10-20mph winds

UPDATE: Bryce Brown Anyone? - DuJuan Harris Released - CMike Signed
smash-a-mus replied to stonewall's topic in FFToday Board
My opponent is starting c-mike vs me. Knowing his extremely dumb luck, he's gonna go off for 150yrds + 2 tds. -
I'm doing something similar with my QB and kicker. Big ben + Boswell. Last week is a perfect example of this where boswell went for 16 points when big ben had a down day. Lack of TDs lead to FGs.
