  1. Classic case of looking ahead to next week's Denver matchup. They obviously thought that they'll just roll through Washington. Carr is legit but next week is Den so I can understand him riding the bench. I wouldn't count the raiders out.

  2. I traded Hyde for him wk1 when the news first hit that it will be 2-3month injury. That would put the return from wk 10-14 which I could live with. Now in hindsight, after Hyde had that great game... I'm not so sure. I think I gave away a true workhorse back.

If any are thinking about DJ, I wouldn't give up that much for him. Hold him for a few weeks and if there is no positive signs of him returning or if Arizona seems like they're not going to be in contention. I would stop holding him and free up the roster spot.

  3. Right when the injury news came out and the prognosis was 2-3 months. I took a gamble and traded hyde for him. I prob overspent but I'm hoping he comes back for playoffs.

Now the news is that he'll be back for christmas... week 16. There is high likelihood that they just shut him down for ROS if ariz is not in contention for playoffs.

In hindsight, I wish that I didn't make the trade. I probably hold him for a month and see what news comes out but if I didn't spend hyde to get him, I could easily just drop him because I have a pretty short bench.

  4. fock the fade

My sentiments exactly. The 50-50 toss ups are unimaginative and frankly the worst pass play in the book. Grow some balls and stand in the pocket, and deliver an accurate pass over the middle. WTF.. if i see another fade route i might lose it

  5. As a Carr owner, Carr makes me nervous. Oakland looked great last week rushing. He's had three horrific games in the last four. I think it's almost entirely due to game flow (and weather vs KC) but if Oakland defense plays like they have against Denver, then they'll continue to pound the ball. They have the O-line to do that all day.

  6. I would sit JJ this week unless you were desperate. Arizona is gonna be up by 5 scores and it will be 30+ rush attempts this game. (sneaky play would be ellington if you're in RB hell like me).

Don't get me wrong though, I love me some JJ ROS. JJ was my deep wr sleeper pick before start of season but he's riding the bench this week.

  7. To make things worse... washington plays monday night week 1. So it looks like i'm gonna have to burn a roster spot for rob kelley going into the season just in case that jones is a last minute scratch.

  8. I think you might be missing the point. You might end up with a squad that has both Antonio Brown and Gronk. Two I think is much safer floor than your top RBs in the draft. Last year proved especially horrible for the RBs with random freeman's blowing up. You might as well load up on Top WR,TE,QB talent while peppering your bench with mid to late round RBs and hope to get struck by lightning. The teams that won last year were people who had those David johnsons or DeAngelo Williams. There is no telling that the same will happen this year but I can see why people will employ the zero-RB theory.

For me, as someone who plays in a keeper league with an auction draft. I am leaning on same contrarian theory as Stonewall. I'll be loading up with RBs on the cheap. Some of these guys might end up being a steal next year. For example, leveon bell might go in the $30 range. Next year without suspension, he might be valued at $60. Or Jamaal Charles... people might be wary of this health and go in the $40s. He might also be in the $60s next year. I really hope everyone blows their load on Wrs and I'll scoop some of these RBs for cheap. IMO, there's a lot of WRs that you can get mid to late than I feel good about these RBs mid to late.
