    War Movies for the Weekend

The new "All Quiet on the Western Front" kicks ass. Two relatively obscure war movies that are great are: "When Trumpets Fade," about the Battle of Hurtgen Forest, which got overshadowed by the Battle of the Bulge. "The Lost Patrol," awesome World War I flick. A Vietnam vet once told me the most realistic movie about that war is "Hamburger Hill."
  3. Do you really need to doosh up every thread with your repetitive, unfunny garbage?
  4. Both my battery-operated leaf blower and chainsaw kick ass.
  5. WE GOT DEAL VIETNAM! WE LOVE YOU LONG TIME! WOO!
  6. I have a John Deere riding mower to use on my two acres and just mulch the shat out of the leaves in the fall. My dumb neighbor puts his leaves and grass clippings into his burn pile and waits until its moist and with a southerly wind to set it on fire and smoke up the neighborhood.
  7. My battery-operated one would blow the chrome off a trailer hitch. Not sure why anyone would want a gas-powered blower.

So says the all-time post leader who has been here less than a decade on a low-rent, lightly-trafficked message board that is more than a quarter century old. https://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/leaderboard/

You've been creepy with your wife?

And even happy marriages have some level of conflict, yours likely being spending every waking hour here instead of taking your bride out to dinner and a movie every now and then. I took my wife of 12 years out to dinner before we headed up to the community theater for rehearsal, with her as producer and me as an actor. What have you done with your wife lately?

What concerts do you most regret not attending?

So let's break this down: "this was the Rusty Iliked" What in the illiterate hillbilly fook does this mean? It's like ken8080 all over again.

This forearm has never been a safe space for an overwhelmingly predominate political mindset, and arguing about politics and stupid things has been part of its culture for a quarter century. If it were a place where MAGAs menstruated together 24-7, it would be boring and gross. Conflict is at the heart of great movies, books, theater, etc.

I've read this 10 times and can't for the life of me understand what you're saying.

I don't get this mindset. This place would be boring without diverse viewpoints and conflict.

Trump is dumping illegals in the OCEAN!!

You ran down the field with some unsubstantiated garbage that one of your infotainment sources generated, and your emotional neediness drove you to start a lame thread. There are at least a dozen threads in this forum blaming Democrats, etc., for misinformation. Waste of bandwith.

Trump is dumping illegals in the OCEAN!!

Sounds more like your people created it and are trying to project it. Regardless, this doesn't warrant a thread.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

I think it's hilarious what you think you know about the Sanctuary based on a clearly unreliable source. I hardly frequented here or there during the 2010s because I had a lot going on in life, including raising three sons, a career change and other things. Gutter and I have had our slap fights and a lot of kidding, but I've always seen him as a solid person and a great father and husband. Those who have met him in person say he's a great guy, and I believe them. In many ways - with your creepy Internet stalking, desire for violence and wishing harm on children - you underscore why the Sanctuary was created. People can talk about their personal lives without worrying about how the likes of you would use it against them. And it has been void of mooks like Peefoam, Tree of Knowledge, listen2me, eternalshiny, helltoupee, etc. There are posters here whom I consider real-life friends, and some of us are meeting later this year to go to an NFL game. That underscores the spirit of how this place used to be, something someone such as you can't understand.

    Are you

I might do this. With the kids grown and gone, buying fireworks to compete with the neighbors just seems like a waste of money now. And the trailer park a mile away really goes out on the Fourth. They wait until the neighborhood displays around them die down and then set off the apocalypse. It sounds like Gettysburg. I don't want to go to some lame local show and get stuck in traffic and all that. Two of the best shows I've seen were the Coast Guard Festival in Michigan and the New Year's Eve display in downtown Dallas. The former had layers of things exploding almost constantly, while the latter was a mix of kick-ass aerial fireworks, things spraying off the tower and an insane drone show.

Also, multiple threads created about the same topic just because someone is being an attention wh0re.

    Trump’s “Big Beautiful Bill”

Here's a nice bill breakdown: https://www.cnn.com/2025/07/01/politics/congress-senate-bill-tax-spending-trump-gop-explainer I'm fine with able-bodied Medicaid reciptions having to do something for their benefits, although how many who aren't of able mind and body will get shut out. I'm not fine with adding to the deficit and this bill benefiting the rich (top 20 percent) more than the poor and middle class. I like being able to deduct the interest on a loan for an American-built vehicle. I like no taxes on tips. Driving up the deficit is going to be a huge problem in the long run, though.
