I actually love this, too, from what I've read. The Colombia president - a hardcore socialist with an approval rating of like 35 percent - had agreed to this, and we had aircraft in the air when he called it off, claiming it was because the prisoners had been poorly treated. The tariffs and sanctions will significantly impact the Colombian economy and serve notice to other countries to fock around and find out when it comes to refusing to take back their people.

Yet you guys can't produce actual facts and evidence of this authorianism that the far-right is projecting on the left. Tim is dead on in his assessment of this whole "us vs. them" mentality. Democrats don't see themselves at war with Republicans and conservatives. They see MAGA's radical mindset and angry rhetoric and oppose that, plain and simple. Again, no one is saying that Trump is Hitler, but he most certainly is taking similar leadership actions that are pushing this country away from democracy and to an authoritarian state, and Voltaire's unhinged, angry and scary diatribes underscore all this. MAGA would like nothing more than a complete annihilation of everything to the left of themselves, and that's not what this country is all about. Even Nancy Pelosi said this country needs a strong Republican party. But instead of a strong Republican party, we have a president concentrating his power and MAGA bulldozing its way toward a country that has a one-party system, a government-controlled media and a bunch of rich people getting richer. And that's why I created this thread, and the MAGAs have done nothing but validate my point.
