    Packers haven't done sh*t

I think we all need to take into consideration the leap that the guys should make this year. The o-line will have an entire year playing together under their belts. Colledge, Wells, and Spitz will improve. Jennings, and Hawk will only get better. Jenkins will start the year out at end not the last four games. Additionally, the entire offense has a year experience in the McCarthy offense and zone blocking scheme. We all agree that the Packers have obvious need areas, I just hope Thompson doesn't reach in the draft. I feel that Olsen at 16 is a reach. Just my opinion but he is a one-dimesional player, tightend who can't block. I would rather take Nelson, Lynch, Hall, Carriker, or Meachum at 16, but that's just my opinion.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

I agree with this sentiment. The Packers, are most likely, not going to go to a Super Bowl in the next year or two. TT is building a franchise, he is not looking for a one year quick fix that will kill our salary cap for year's to come (see: San Francisco, who has just dug themselves out of that mess). We have the youngest team in the league and are still 20 million under the cap. Once Favre retire that will be another 10 million. No sense is tying up overpaid medicore veterans. Besides Clements and Thomas, who was really an impact free agent this year? Daniel Graham? Give me a break. Jamal Lewis? No. We need to remember that there will be players released once training camp starts, etc. Maybe a player like Calhoun gets released by Detroit. They already have Bell and Jones in the backfield.

    Broncos sign Patrick Ramsey

I agree that you are getting a little ahead of yourself. Henry and Bly have been perpetual complainers and have not been seen as good "locker room" guys . Add Walker's pre-madonna attitude to that and Cutler's arrogance and you have the make-up of a volatile team if things don't start off well. Also, at some point continunity has to be addressed. In two years the Broncos have brought in a new qb, wr, rb, te, back-up qb, lt....etc. How long is it going to take for all of these guys to get used to playing with each other and learn the playbook. The entire offense has been overhauled. This is the NFL, consistency and continuity are king.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

I don't want Walker but I am fine with everyon else. I would love an Olsen/Weddle combo after the first 2 rounds, I just think better players will be available at 16. I would like to trade back to get Olsen if possible.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

Hopefully he learned from the Klemm and Manuel signings. I would like to see Griffith signed and then maybe Hood and Kelly Washington or Horn as 2nd tier signings. Once again, let's not spend money just to spend it.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

Yes, I don't think he is trading up. We would have to give up too much. Trading back is very likely. This is what his history indicates.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

I like Nelson and I like Olsen as well but not at 16. It wouldn't shock me to see Thompson trade down out of 16.

    Packers haven't done sh*t

If you are a Packer fan, you had to expect this. Thompson is not going to throw big money at free agents. He would prefer to build through the draft and re-sign his own players. I agree with his philosophy. If you look at what he inherited a few years back, he has pretty much cleaned house and turned a 4-12 team with little depth into an 8-8 team that is the youngest in the league. You have to allow these players develop and can not retard their growth by bringing in overpriced veterans as a stopgap fix. I agree that it would be nice to see him spend some money but I really don't agree with some of the money being thrown around. I would much rather see us plug a few holes via free agency (ie. Griffith, Grant, possibly Horn) and hold some of this money to either extend our own players (Barnett, Tauscher) or carry into next season. We all need to understand how this incredibly inflated market is going to affect future contract demands. There ae some really average players getting paid big money. There is no sense in just spending the money unwisely.
  9. Man, Denver is busy this off-season.

**** ahman green to sign with texans ***

Hate to say it but this is not a great signing by the Texans, and judging by the response from the so-called "experts" they agree. Green is 30, has fumbling issues, and is one year removed from a serious leg injury. The Texans o-line is horrible and their qb isn't any better. What does this do for them? 2 years from now when the team is improved and they have a new qb they will be breaking in another rb. 4 years $23 million? This is more a sign of the weak free agent rb class than a testament to Green's ability. This is an example of why the Packers have only had 1 losing season in 15 years and all the Texans do is lose. It is much better to get rid of a player one year to early than sign him one year to late. 30 year old rb's with an injury history aren't good signings for a bad, young, developing team. GB still needs a back but they are not going to spend this type of money. With the rich draft class next year, and the way the current rb market is starting to lay itself out. They are going to get a good rb for a very good price. The current situation in GB is silent re-building. This team is going to be fairly stocked once Favre retires in a year or two. I can see Thompson being 15-20 million under the cap next year as well.
  11. Moss, Gaffney, Welker? Sorry Moz but nothing about that scares me. Moss, Driver, Jennings sounds ten times more intimidating.

    RB Travis Henry hitting FA...

    I take him in GB.

    Pack offers Rodgers for Moss....

I wanted to add my opinion on this based on the majority "Don't trade the future" talk starting to build. Please keep a few things in mind. 1.) Rodgers fell into the Packers lap at 24. He freefell and TT sticking to his BPA mantra took him. He fell into their lap 2.) McCarthy seriously scouted both Smith and Rodgers for months leading up to the 2005 draft as the 49ers had the #1 pick. They chose Smith 3.) While we and media continue to say we don't know what we have in Rodgers, I firmly believe the Packers do know what they have. He has been with the Packers for a few years now and McCarthy is considered by some to be a qb guru. I guarantee you he knows exactly what Rodgers can and cannot do and has a strong opinion on him. 4.) If Favre does decide to play another 2 years, Rodgers is providing the Packers no help. He is a first round pick earning first round money sitting on the bench. Any player who gets on the field will help the Packers more than Rodgers. 5.) If Favre does play another 2 years, Rodgers will be up for free agency before he ever sees the field. Will the Packers be willing to pay him? 6.) The Packers have a long history of trading their backup qb's (Brunell, Brooks, Hasselbeck). I understand the reluctance of everyone regarding trading for Moss. He is now 30 years old, has declining production, a bad attitude, and a reputation for quitting on his team. I do have some concerns with the Packers trading Rodgers for Moss, but I don't really have an issues with the Packers trading Rodgers. As I said, do not be foolish enough to assume that the Packers don't have a strong opinion on whether Rodgers has the talent to lead this team. If the Packers truly believe Rodgers isn't their qb of the future and if Favre has hinted at playing 2 more years, why not move him for someone who can actually get on the field and help the team? The Packers can make a move for a guy like Tim Rattay and then look to draft another qb in a year or two.

    Disturbing Thought for Packer Fans

I don't see it happening. First off, there is no way Quinn falls that far. Once he gets out the top ten, if it happens, teams will be calling to trade up for him. Secondly, we are not going to have 2 #1 qb's on the bench behind far. Thirdly, I am starting to think more and more that the Pack will trade back in the first round. I could see TT moving back to acquire another 3rd and talking either Meachum or whoever is left out of Landry or Nelson. I could also see us going d-line in the first round.

    Top wr this week

Who will post the best stats this week? Believe it or not I am leaning towards Berrian. I also like Harrison and Colston but I just feel like Berrian may break a couple.

    Top wr this week

    Is Colston healthy?
  17. Who do you think will be the top qb, rb, and wr out of the 4 games this weekend? My predictions right now. Qb: Manning 275 3 td's Rb: LJ 150 2 td's Wr: Wayne 130 1 td I like Burress and Owens as well this week. I just don't have as much confidence in them
  18. I have both Favre and Romo on my team and was starting Favre until recently. Who are you benching to play Favre this week?
  19. J5

    jackson

He may turn out to be good eventually, but I agree. He is useless. Who is calling the plays. What an absolute pathetic attempt at being an NFL offense by the Vikings.
  20. Favre is coming back next year. I am torn on this and need to set my lineup in 1 hour. On the one hand, Favre has the experience and Minn has a bad pass defense, but he has not been terribly consistent this year. On the other hand, Romo has the better weapons and is playing in a big game vs. Philly. TO is at home vs. his old team, but the Eagles defense has been playing much better.
  21. I am trying to decide if I should start the NE or PIT defense this week, as every point counts, but can't really make a decision either way. Both Jacksonville and Baltimore have good defenses, both have mobile qb's. I think Baltimore is a more balanced offense but Jacksonville has much better running game. On the surface I am thinking NE but they are on the road and Jacksonville may run more than they pass which limits defensive opportunities. Pitt is at home, but Baltimore is a little more talented on offense.
  22. This is a tough call. There seem to be alot of questions this week on team defense, as everyone is looking for points everywhere. I agree with both points made above which is what makes this so difficult. NE is #2 in scoring defense, and Jacksonville is #5 so this game could be low scoring. If Taylor sits that helps out as well. I also don't think the Jaguars have nearly the skill level talent that Baltimore does. However, they are at home and lost a tough one last week. Both the Jaguars and the Ravens are fighting for playoff positioning. I am leaning towards NE right now as they have been more consistent throughout the year.

Where is it NOT raining on Sunday?

I am trying to decide between Scobee and Stover. I like Stover's chance but it is tough to kick in Pittsburgh and Scobee plays in Florida.
  24. Who do you think I should start at defense this week. NE vs. Jacksonville on the road, or Pit vs. Baltimore at home. Both teams have running qb's. Both teams have good defenses. I think Jacksonville has a better running game but Taylor may be hurt. Do I go with the home team? My thought is that Garrard is less experieneced than McNair but may not throw as much which will limit the defensive chances. Baltimore could get up big on Pittsburgh though, which would do that same thing.

    Chiefs Defense...

Anyone starting the Chiefs defense this week vs. the Raiders? I have both Pats vs. Jacksonville, and Steelers vs. Ravens but am intrigued by the Chiefs this week. They only recored 1 sack when they played them at home a few weeks ago but this might be different.
