Could you turn this team into a champion?

In a 10-team league, that has to be one of the weaker teams for sure. No 1st round pick hurts big time this year too. I think it'll take a year or two to rebuild a dynasty team like that. Outside of AP, Pierre, and Smith I think the rest of the team is very weak for a 10-team format. I would've loved that team heading into last year though. What a difference a year makes......

    Return of the One-hit Wonder

Starting in the late 80's then.... Timmy Smith - Had one hell of a Super Bowl. If I'd played ff back then he'd of likely been a definite first rd. bust the next season! Someone else mentioned Neal Anderson - As a Bears fan I'd go with the A-train though. Forte may be next in line there How 'bout the infamous Michael Jackson? My first year of ff he was coming off a 1200/14TD year and then "poof" Olandis Gary Mike Anderson Quentin Griffin I see some sort of pattern here......

    Question about the Chiefs?

I was always a Stephone Paige and Carlos Carson fan back in the day. This year - I really liked how Charles looked at the end of the year and the Jets definitely know why they got rid of TJ. I'd give a slight edge to Chambers over Bowe as well simply because he seemed like he had more chemistry with Cassell. Bowe definitely has more talent, but with Cassell at the helm, I'd go Chambers.

FFOC: Was it all a scam?

In regards to my OP, it does look like all but $30,000 of last year's winnings were paid out. However, it also looks like the FFOC is now more than likely done for. This could potentially be an issue for the 2 previous million dollar winners who were supposed to get installments over the next 10 years. Will they ever see another dime? I bet not..... And kutulu, that is a deep, dark, chapter of Chronic Huskers life that I am not going to expose on this message bored. Unless, of course, he continues with his "Corky76 went to jail" stories. Then, I may change my mind.

FFOC: Was it all a scam?

Problem was they guaranteed a top prize of $1,000,000 no matter how many teams entered the contest. 2nd paid 100,000, 3rd was 40,000 or so, etc. They only had about 11,000 teams that signed up and half of those were what they called "Q School" which was a team you could buy for $10.

FFOC: Was it all a scam?

Sorry. It's the Fantasy Football Open Championship. It's on Fanball.com, but when I contacted Fanball they were quite CLEAR that they only ran the FFOC and are in no way an entity are owner of the FFOC. It's been a great contest the last couple of years, top winner gets a million dollars plus they give out individual league prizes and a whole bunch of other prizes - or should I say "supposedly" they give out these prizes. The first year, Papa Johns sponsored it, Jerry Rice was the commish. All prizes were paid out. I won $2500 myself off of 3 $100 teams. Last year Stan apparently took full control of the entire thing. With the amount of teams that entered and the prize money he should've paid out, I estimated he would've lost about $750,000. I think he made like the Baltimore Colts and skipped town in the middle of the night. Sad thing is, all these people who thought they won Big money probably won't get it I'm thinking

Who should be Pick #2 in PPR?

agreed. I've done 2 ppr leagues so far and AP has gone #2 behind MJD in one and #4 behind MJD, Forte, and Fitz in the other. The Fitz pick was flat out stoopid IMO though.
  9. I think this question depends on your leagues rules. I am in the process of doing an email PPR league now where you start 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE, and 2 RB/WR flex options. It's a $500 league so there are no newbs in this league. I picked from 1.12 and my original strategy was to go RB and WR assuming one of the big 3 were there. Moss, Fitz, and Andre were all gone by 1.12 so I went Slaton and then Brady. Then I picked Kevin Smith at 3.12 and had to go with T.O. at 4.1 even though I didn't like that pick at all. There were a total of 16 WR's taken by my pick at 3.12. I like Brady but now my WR position is going to be weak because I didn't anticipate that many WR's being off the board. I think I'd like my team a little more if I'd of gone either Wayne or CJ where I took Brady and then I'd of had my choice between Rivers and Warner at 4.1 (Brady, Brees, Rodgers, and Manning were taken before that).

    RapidDraft

I've now done 5 of these total. Moss has gone 1.11 twice, 2.1 once and 2.2 twice. I think you could pick at 1.11 and get him fairly easily.
  11. FFtoday is one of the 11 pros on this site and nobody is even mentioning it on here! Heck it's less than $10 a team and if nothing else it's good to do a draft or 2 for a mock and who knows, maybe a $250,000 paycheck! Here is my team drafting from the 10 hole: QB: McNabb, Delhomme, Shaun Hill (yeah my season depends on McNabb staying healthy) RB: CJ, Grant, LJ, Ray Rice, McCoy, M. Bush WR: Andre, Bowe, A. Gonzo, E. Bennet, Robiskie, Mason TE: Olsen, Shiancoe K: who really cares? D: Vikings, Bears I'm happy CJ slid to me and was able to get Andre on the turnaround. I was SHOCKED to see LJ sitting there in rd. 7 and couldn't pass on him.

    Schedule/Defense spreadsheet

Hey Robb. Do you play in the 1000 Roads League on FFleagues? I think you're in that league with me but not sure. My team name is "The Tony Danza" on there. I think we may have even played each other in the championship the year before last if I remember correctly???

Hmmmm. Hadn't noticed that before. I've done 1 free one and 4 that I've paid for. I can't remember which is which though. Thanks for pointing that out.

    Your thoughts on 2 QB's in a 12 teamer

In that case - hell no!!! I played in a league like that a few years back and said never again! I don't even like the flex option the FFOC uses where you start 1 QB, 2 RB's, 3 WR's and then can use a QB, RB, or WR as a flex. But I definitely wouldn't even play in a league where you are required to start 2 QB's every week!

    Your thoughts on 2 QB's in a 12 teamer

I think you need to explain your situation a little better. Are you talking about requiring 2 starting QB's every week, a flex option like FFOC, or are you just trying to say you need to draft 2 QB's on a standard league where you only start 1?

    NFL futures

    Here are the over/unders on how many games each team will win this year. I'm thinking about putting a couple more wagers on some of them. The ones with question marks I think are about right and I'm not gonna touch them. The rest of them, I put in paranthesis what I think is a good bet after looking at all the schedules. I've already laid down wagers on the Steelers over 10.5 and the Buccs under 6.5. No major money, just some bets to make the season interesting. Any thoughts???? Patriots - 11.5 (?) Steelers - 10.5 (overs) Colts -10 (unders) Giants - 10 (?) Eagles - 9.5 (?) Chargers - 9.5 (overs) Cowboys - 9 (unders) Packers - 9 (?) Vikings - 9 (?) Titans - 9 (?) Cardinals - 8.5 (?) Ravens - 8.5 (unders) Panthers - 8.5 (overs) Bears - 8.5 (?) Saints - 8.5 (?) Falcons - 8 (overs) Texans - 8 (?) Jaguars - 8 (unders) Redskins - 8 (unders) Bills - 7.5 (?) Broncos - 7.5 (unders) Seahawks - 7.5 (?) Browns - 7 (?) Dolphins - 7 (overs) Jets - 7 (unders) 49ers - 7 (?) Buccs - 6.5 (unders) Bengals - 6 (?) Chiefs - 6 (?) Raiders - 5.5 (unders) Rams - 5.5 (?) Lions - 5 (?)

    Fitz or AJ at 6?

First of all, personally I would never take a WR with the #6 pick even in a PPR league but that's just me. I'd go with CJ, SJax, maybe even Slaton. Then come back with a WR like Calvin, Jennings, Roddy, S. Smith, etc. If you have your mind set on taking one of those 2 guys though it should be Andre. Remember, Fitzgerald played good all year but had his biggest games when Boldin was out especially as far as TD's. I don't see Fitz putting up the #'s to be ranked as the #1 WR by year's end with a healthy Boldin starting opposite but he should remain in the top 5-7 though. Andre on the other hand could very well end up as the #1 WR by year's end. With Slaton coming on strong at the end of last year, the running game should leave Johnson a lot of opportunities. If Schaub can stay healthy all season, I think Andre Johnson could put up some seriously crazy stats.

11th Pick in a PPR league..?

I just did a $100 PPR draft 2 days ago with similar scoring rules with a bunch of self-proclaimed "pros" from another website. I had the #1 pick but here is how it played out just for some info. round 1: MJD(me- championship) Forte AP Fitz Andre Turner Chris Johnson Wayne (???? dumb pick there) LT Moss Calvin Johnson SJax round 2: Roddy White Slaton Brady Boldin DeAndelo Brees Westy Manning MB3 Gore Greg Jennings S. Smith (me again - championship) So as you can see, 3 of the 5 guys you mentioned were gone by pick 11. But in this case a surprise (to me anyway) in SJAX going at #12! That's ridiculous in a PPR to me.... And friggin' Gore almost made it back to me in rd. 2!!! These guys are supposed to be ff gods too
  19. Corky76

    Whats with the MJD hype?

I drafted MJD #1 in a PPR league and got quite a bit of crap for doing it. But, if it's a PPR league I think MJD should be solid at #3. He's one of the few backs these days that will be used in 1,2, and 3rd down situations as well as goal line carries. You can't even say that about AP since he is often taken out of the lineup for Taylor in long 3rd down situations. He had 62 catches last year which was 2nd to only Forte who had 63. In all honesty, you're not going to win your draft with that pick and I don't see a huge difference between guys like him, Forte, CJ, SJax, etc. Your going to get some sort of stud at #3 and I'd focus more on your targets for the later rds. Just my .02 anyway

    RapidDraft

Yeah, I can't find that info either. I can see why you have your doubts about the payout too but I believe they probably not only have some sponsors, like the 11 or so websites considered to be "pros", but I'm sure they are insured like the FFOC was last year when they only got 6600 teams that signed up and still paid out well over a million in prize money.
  21. Corky76

Anyone else doing the rapid draft on here?

Rookie mistake. The 2 guys I targetted in rd. 15 got taken just before I was up. I was doing warp mode that time where the comp. picks every 5 secs. and you only get 30 secs. per pick so I ran out of time trying to figure out who I wanted. That was what it gave to me in auto pick.

Out of the 5 years i've played FF...

Well, if it's your commish then you need to knock some sense into him! I thought you played in one of those gold or nickel or nylon leagues where you pay $100 a team (12 teams) and sportsline only pays out $600! Anyone who signs up for one of those leagues doesn't do their homework. Sorry man, I take back what I said about you but at the same time, you need to sit down with your commish and let him know that there are sites like espn, yahoo, etc. that are FREE and instead he chooses a site that's $150 or whatever it is??? He's throwing away league prize money!!!

Man, looking at how many people have responded to this post and how many people are on the forum over there, it seems like the interest in pretty lame. Oh well, looks like I'm all but guaranteed a quarter mil!!!!

Out of the 5 years i've played FF...

People still actually use that ripoff site for ff? Based on the intelligence needed to throw your money away on sportsline.com these days, now I understand why he wasn't drafted.
